Chapter 3 - Werewolf in Haelgeth

"Let's go Mav! Rise and Shine!", I say while splashing a bucket full of water onto him.

"Ah! Well, good morning to you too Angie. Did you happen to bring breakfast with you, since you've come all this way for a morning wake up call?"

It seems every other night now I find him passed out behind the inn reeking of alcohol. At least this time he's wearing clothes, well most of them anyway. "I swear Mav, with all that money you make hunting down bandits, you ought to be able to rent a room at any establishment here. Now come on, wakey-wakey. I'll have the cook prepare you something to eat."

"Angie, it's times like these that make me fall in love with you all over again." He stands up and shakes like a dog trying to dry off. He gets down onto one knee and grasp my one free hand, "Will you marry me?"

"Will you stop that!", I swing the bucket at his head, hoping to knock some sense into him, and like always he nimbly dodges my assault.

"Aw, Angie, is that anyway to provide room service?"

"You know good and well that this is no room, and you're no guest! Now move your behind Mav, or is that a no for breakfast?"

He throws his hands up in surrender, "Fine, fine. Let me find some clothes and I'll be right in."

He walks down the alleyway away from the main road. He saunters without any care before turning at the first corner. I wonder if there's something I'm missing, something about Mav I haven't seen, I haven't noticed? He's just a bandit hunting drunk, right?
