Chapter 7 - Alfather

Come in, Come in, Oh weary Traveler.

Stay awhile, and don't be dour.

A fire for thee is just over there.

And food's on the table if you care.

Take a drink, sip, and be merry.

We know that the cold can be scary.

You have come on an incredible night.

Now is the time we perform our rite.

The alfather has been generous, it's certain.

You may place your offerings behind the curtain.

He has blessed us with strength when we're in need.

He's given us great crops so the family can feed.

In his name, we make sacred this night.

We give our thanks that he answers our plights.

The raven god has traveled both near and far.

He has gone to strange lands, exotic and bizarre.

Who knows if he's arrived at our door?

For our tavern has never been a bore.

We have hosted many, from warriors to wizards.

On warm sunny days or cold nightly blizzards.

We heal the wounds of the weary and the weak.

Providing levity for those whose spirits are meak.

The mighty share with tales of their glory.

And we lovingly record each and every story.

Come, it is time. The ritual shall begin.

Have yourself a drink of juice and gin.

Drink hard and in brotherhood you'll live.

It is time for the offering. A toast we shall give.

Here's to our ancestors, who've all come before.

And the many brave heroes who've crossed our door.

Here's to the spirits of our beautiful land.

Who give a great bounty to each friendly hand.

Here's to the gods who watch and protect us all.

Here's to our enemies, of whom which we brawl.

Here's to the mountain and here's to the sea.

Here's to you and here's to me.

Here's to Odin and the joy he brings.

And in his name, these songs we sing.
