Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Cyn'Thia

For most of the day, Jorael tried to sleep at the Mad Filly Inn.

He slumbered from early morning until late afternoon, as at the inn there were almost no noise and people. He woke up and was almost leaving the inn to go to the Titan Guild headquarters.

"Candy boy, such thoughtful eyes… what happened?" asked Daisy the innkeeper while cleaning the counter.

"Nothing. Farewell…" replied the Traveler while leaving the inn nearly sunset.

After walking from east to north through the city, he arrived at the Guild. Catherine was still there at the reception.

"Novice Adventurer, welcome back!...

Did you sleep well at Daisy's?" asked vindictively the Guild's Secretary.

"Uhm… Thank you Catherine for the advice. Truly a wonderful place you pointed out to me." Replied jokingly Jorael and then pulled out of his pocket his first completed Guild Quest contract.

"eh eh… wait!...

Don't tell me you already completed the contract?!" asked Catherine surprised.

"Aye…" responded the Traveler.

"Let me see… the sign is there… you surprised me; I should say a good job…" whispered the Secretary and then started talking aloud:

"Well done Novice Adventurer!

Here's your reward, and additionally you deserve a raise in your rank for how quick it was!

You'll be known now as Recruit adventurer Jorael!"

As soon as Catherine finished talking and as she was putting the reward on the counter, the hall filled with adventurers started clapping their hands and exulting for the new Adventurer promotion.

"Thanks… I guess…" whispered a little embarrassed Jorael while retrieving his reward, a bag filled with 250 gold coins.

"Good job, good job!

You can now access to Recruit rank Quests!" shouted the Secretary.

"Uhm… I'll pass for now. I need to rest for a bit. Farewell." Said the Traveler as he was leaving the building.

"I see… then, farewell Recruit!" yelled Catherine.

Jorael left the Guild headquarter, and walked in the direction of the central plaza of Rivella.

"What should I do now with this blood-tainted money…" thought the Traveler as he was walking in the piazza at dusk.

A little group of slaves passed by, headed by a rich Nobleman. One of the slaves fell to the ground seemingly exhausted, slowing down the group.

"You shitty Demon! Stand up!" yelled the Nobleman while kicking the fallen slave in the stomach.

Laughs from others passing Humans could be heard through the plaza as the Demon on the ground was suffering from the vicious hits of the rich Human.

Jorael could stand no more and approached the slave to help him to raise.

"Sir, I beg your pardon as it seems this stupid slave is exhausted…

I advise you to let him rest if you don't want him to die…" said the Traveler.

"What?! W-who are you?! What do you think you are doing?!" yelled the Nobleman annoyed.

"Oh, sorry Sir, I'm a humble adventurer and thought it should be bad for a Nobleman like you to waste money…" replied Jorael trying to convince the Human.

"Umpf… do not meddle in other people's affairs…

Let's go slackers!" shouted the rich man as he and his slaves reprised to walk.

As they were walking away, Jorael thought:

"I know too damn well what to do with money and power…

I need to stop this shit."

The Traveler returned to a feisty Mad Filly Inn. Daisy welcomed him and asked:

"Is everything ok, candy boy? You look pale and so thoughtful…"

"Yes. I'll go to my room." Replied Jorael a bit annoyed.

"Don't you want to eat?!" asked worried Daisy.

"…"

The Traveler didn't reply and walked to his room. He wore off his leather jacket and fur mantle and put them on the wooden chair. He looked at himself in the mirror and said:

"I won't sleep tonight… better if I start meditating…"

Jorael sat on the bed with his leg crossed, closed his eyes, and his mind started wondering deep in his thoughts for all the night, indifferent to all the noises that echoed in the inn's fervent night.

The following morning the sleepless Traveler left the inn, passing beside the innkeeper worrying for him having still not eaten for breakfast.

As he walked on the muddy streets, he was thinking:

"I should go to the Guild's Headquarter…"

But his thoughts were interrupted by seeing another time a large crowd gathering in the East District plaza.

Like the other morning, there were distinct upper-class noblemen and noblewomen assembly to participate in the slave auction.

"This time I have the money…" thought Jorael while approaching the crowd.

After few minutes of waiting, the auction started, and the same auctioneer as last time began to shout:

"Welcome!

My dearest Madams and Sirs present here in this wonderful morning in the blessed city by Kalipso!

May She provides luck to all of you; to get what you all desire!

Unfortunately, we only have one item for today's auction… but one of the most coveted!

Madams and Sirs, watch closely to the superb She-Elf for sale today!"

As the man finished the introduction a female Elf was dragged on the stage, to the crowd's bewilderment.

Although she was dressed poorly with an old rotten sack, people could tell she was gorgeous. Silvery-blonde long hair ran down for most of her head, except the left side of her head above her long pointy distinctive left ear that was shaved. Her right eye partially covered by her long straight hair was azure, while her left was green. It could not be told at first sight due to the sack, but she was well endowed.

As soon as she entered the stage, Jorael could tell from the Noblemen's lustful faces their perverted thoughts on her.

"Pigs… I have to save her…" thought the Traveler waiting for the auction to begin amidst the crowd.

"3…2…1… let's start from 50 gold coins!" yelled the greedy auctioneer.

Noblemen instantly started fighting each other with their bids, immediately raising the price to 100 gold coins.

Jorael entered the fight shouting a bid for 110 gold coins.

"110?! To the young man other there!

Someone want to do better than him?!" shouted the auctioneer.

"120!" yelled a fat Nobleman in his fifties.

"120?! To the esteemed Nobleman other there!

Young man, do you want him to steal the beautiful Elf?!" incited the man on the stage.

"130!" shouted Jorael.

"140!" yelled the Nobleman.

The two continued the bids battle until they reached 200 gold coins.

"200?!?!...

The esteemed Nobleman sure need this precious Elf!" screamed with joy the auctioneer.

"Ugh… he must be obsessed and turned on by some weird shit and fetishes this fat pig…

I must give it all I've got…" was thinking the Traveler as he shouted his last offer:

"250 gold coins!"

The crowd fell in silence, while the auctioneer started yelling with avid eyes:

"2-250?!?!

Did the young man fall in love with the Elf or is it the ardors of youth?"

The audience started laughing while the man on the stage continued to shout:

"Is it over esteemed Nobleman?!...

Careful if I don't get any response, I'll start counting…

Anyone?!...

Then, 3…2…1… sold to the young man other there!"

The crowd laughed again and started clapping their hands, while the fat nobleman who lost the battle left the plaza furiously.

"Young man, come over here to get your item!" yelled the auctioneer.

Jorael made his way on to the stage a little embarrassed thinking:

"If Miranda knows I bought a slave… a female Elf nevertheless… but it's for the good!"

"Pay." Whispered the greedy auctioneer while forcing a smile on his audience.

The Traveler gave him all of the rewards of his first completed Guild Quest. Some of the man's staff arrived and one started counting the money, while the other pulled out the slave contract.

After the counting was done the magic contract between the Elf and Jorael was compiled. The auctioneer thanked his customer and said: "It's yours now…"

The Elf was forced to wear the slave collar, while Jorael signed the contract. The slavers gave him the contract and then the two of them left the stage and started walking to the center of the city.

"I'm Jorael, what's your name?"

"…"

She did not reply and continued silently following the Traveler with gloomy eyes and looking at her naked feet.

"It's okay if you need time, you must have been through a lot…" whispered the Traveler to the Elf.

The two of them arrived in the South District, the merchant quarter, as Jorael was looking for a good dress shop. They arrived at one looking promising and he said:

"We should look here for something for you to wear… you can't walk like that!"

As soon as they entered the shop, they were greeted by a smiling merchant:

"Welcome, welcome young man!

How can this humble merchant help you?"

"I need some decent clothing for her." Replied Jorael while pointing at his slave.

"Oh, such an Elven beauty!

You need something for her to wear on daily basis or…

Something when the two of you are alone… you know…" asked the merchant while winking.

"NO! no… something good for her…

You can let her choose if you're fine with it…" yelled worried the Traveler.

"Let her choose?! Well… whatever…" whispered the man disapprovingly.

"You can choose whatever you want! If my wallet can cover it…" said Jorael smiling at his slave.

"…"

She did not reply but started looking around the shop for dresses. She approached the exotic ward and she seemed to recognize something. She grabbed a long dress and showed it to the merchant that talked:

"Finally, someone that want… oh… yes, that should be native to your land.

You can try it in the changing room over there…"

She immediately went to change the rotten sack that the slavers gave to her. After few minutes she came back from the changing room. To the merchant and Jorael surprise, it was a perfect fit with that dress and she was breathtaking.

She wore an Elven native long silk dress, half-bright green, half shining silver, with a gap from her thigh to her ankle showing off a bit of her left leg. The garb exalted all of her generous shapes, that before could only be barely see through the sack. A faint smile lighted her delicate and smooth face.

"Yeah… this is it.

Honorable merchant, how much for the clothing?" asked Jorael.

"1-10 gold coins… wait she does not have any shoes or boots; don't you need it young man?" replied the merchant.

"Oh… yes please…" replied the Traveler while he was lost gazing at the Elf.

"These should do. Add other 5 gold coins to the bill." Said the merchant while giving a pair of silvery leather boots to the Elf that immediately wore them with a satisfying face.

"So, 15 in total? Here take it, Sir..." said Jorael while giving the merchant the money.

"Thank you, young man. Do you need anything else?"

"No, now we're leaving, thanks. Farewell."

"Farewell young man!"

The two left the shop and walked to the center of the city. The people that first did not even notice the Elf, now were lost gazing at her full beauty renewed with her marvelous dress.

"You seem happy wearing that dress. May I know now your name now?" asked again the Traveler.

"…"

She did not respond and continued silently following him. Jorael then stopped at a good-looking tavern to eat. The two sat at a table and he ordered food, making sure to order for her vegetables and fruits. She did not talk, but a faint smile gave the impression she was thanking him.

Hours passed after eating, leaving the tavern, and wandering the city for a tour. However, she still did not talk yet.

Finally, the two of them at dusk returned to the Mad Filly Inn, where Jorael had a room with his belongings.

The inn was filled with the usual chaos, which left the Elf aghast and petrified. Daisy saw her guests and quickly approached them to talk:

"Candy boy, you're with a marvelous Elf tonight!

Wait… that collar… don't tell me she's your slave naughty boy?!"

"uh… Daisy yes, she's my slave…. We're going to my room. Farewell." Replied embarrassed Jorael.

"Naughty boy, you disappoint me… you could have me, and yet you choose a foreign beauty…

Not to talk on the slave part…" yelled Daisy furiously while the Traveler and his slave disappeared.

They arrived hurriedly at his room and closed the door. The Elf was still in shock, but then after seeing the little decadent room with a single bed she finally started talking and she seemed mad:

"I knew it! You disguised yourself as a nice Human, bought me fine clothes, fed me good food, took me to see the city, and then… you are like all other filthy Humans! Rotten to the core!

You disgust me! You can have my body as I'm your slave, but you will never truly have me!"

As she finished shouting, she started undressing while tears were pouring from her azure and green eyes.

"NO! NOOOO! STOP!" screamed Jorael.

She stopped undressing in confusion and he continued talking:

"Why did you misunderstand? I don't want any of that!"

"What?! Why a single bed in a BROTHEL then?!" asked the slave nervously.

"Oh… I'm so stupid… Sorry!

Didn't think about that because the innkeeper made stupid comments…

Also, I think I nearly finished all my money… ah ah ah!" replied the Traveler while laughing.

"…"

She stood still in front of the bed in silence while looking at her master, waiting for him to make a move. He sighed and then started talking in Ancient Elven:

"My name is Jorael, as I already told you, but what I did not tell you is that I'm a Sage of the forgotten library Vas'Anellir and pupil of the Elven Sage Tor'Elkast the Wise. May I know your name now?"

As the Elf was standing still on the ground astounded by what she had just heard, few seconds passed, and then she replied:

"My name is… Cyn'Thia."
