100 meters in front of the cage, a massive pincer came out of the dark hole. It's bodyas wide as the cage it barely everything. The situation did not look good. The hole was already taken and the aggressor behind her did not lessen its pursuit.
Sha!
The snake catapulted itself forward, not caring who stood in its path.
"You leave me no other choice." Being in a pradicament, Luo Si jumped at the lesser evil after exploding the remaining energy on her back and threw a deathly glance in its direction.
Triggered by instinct, the wall dweller pierced at Luo Si. But the claw fell short by a meter. Anticipating the attack the human monster easily evaded the claw by shifting her center.
'Just get inside!' In a push of adrenaline, she brushed past the cave monster, switching position with the other in taking the attack. It turned out to be a glassy scorpion.
Hap* Crack*
It sounded like a something was bitten off.
'GIYA'
The screech coming from the giant insect confirmed her suspicion.
Luo Si turned around when reaching the scorpions end.
'Frost Palm!'
She did not let the other retreat from the viper and shoved the insect out some more. "Don't you ever c***block me again. Ever."
As a result, the wall dweller was pulled out and bitten in half by the 2nd grade killer.
Rumble*
The girl ran in some more when the viper tried to push its head in some meters and shock the cave a bit after gulping down the third kill.
Luo Si sighed in relieve when the cave stopped shaking. 2 cold eyes looked at her though when the girl turned around.
Bite* Bite*
The viper bit down many times, making the cave shake again, but the distance between the two didn't change. In grieve it could only retreat and let the prey go.
Turning back to the darkness she encountered a new 'problem.' The dark environment sparkling in ruby eye pairs. Many red eyes, starring at her, lit up the darkness. Scorpions, from the size of a dog to the size of a palm screamed in front of her.
Clap*
Luo Si clapped her hands in front of her while closing her eyes.
"Bon appetite." She licked her lips.
Pa-pa-pa* Crush*
5 minutes later, the walls were painted violet and dozens of carcasses, some frozen, laid on the ground. Only the painters' body was sitting up-right without a scratch.
"Phou, I'm done for today. I did not expect to come across a second-grade killer beast." She walked to the exit after recovering. She held her steps dozens of meters in front of the entrance though when she spotted a rainbow-colored turtle shell.
The familiar looking snakehead dashed out of the front hole and at the wall-cavity. Likewise, Luo Si dashed back inside.
"Making me a sitting duck? Fine. How about I check out the other end. Hopefully it leads outside." Luo Si had not walked deeper into the cave previously and only killed everything inside her perception.
Passing the dozens of littering corpses, she entered the eternal darkness. At the beginning a beast or two would hop out from a crack in the wall, but they could not hide from a veteran's, like Luo Si's keenness.
The cave was astonishingly deep. Giving the feeling that it had no end, until a blueish light came from upfront. Following the traces of light, soon, an apartment big hall. Seeing no other exits it marked the end of her journey.
Drip* Drop*
Glowing crystal-clear stalactites hung down from the wall and dripped water, gathered at the very tip, down into an indentation, to form a pool.
"Wow." A very fresh and cold breath was sucked in, bewitched by the atmosphere. Because of the cold resistance gained from the body cultivation technique, Luo Si did not realize it before, but the temperature inside the room was significantly lower than outside.
She cupped up a handful of water. "Well, at least I will not die of thirst." The water had a calming and refreshing feeling to it.
The scorpion meat was organized, after double checking the vicinity. Without knowing, it was getting dark outside. The hunter was not giving in and watched over the entrance. With the present circumstances it was best to let time fly by faster and how else than to meditate.
The cave was numbly silent, as the outside noises deflected on the surrounding wall. The deafness made it seem like the place was devoid of any presence. The noisy bordel and neighborhood outside could not even compare to this. Only the varying dropping water droplets, falling onto the clear water hollow before becoming a part of it, bound time a prisoner. The conditions were excellent to cultivate in seclusion.
Sitting in the lotus-position she reviewed. "This result. I guess things did get out of hand pretty fast. It looks like I have provoked a big guy this time."
Thinking about how professionel the headhunters had been, it was not challenging to count the people able to display such wealth.
Unknown to her, Luo Si was getting more sleepy by the second. The sound of tapping water might be irregular, but it had a special pattern to it as well. The pattern of thought and metronomy overlapped, creating a drowsing effect on her.
The trailing had also been tireing her body and spiritual constitution.
The sleeping season, however, ended after 2 hours passed, when the cavity was flooded by a white light.
"Moan* Who the fuck turned the light on. I'm trying to sleep." Blocking the light-rays with her hand she stood up and staggered towards the light source.
Splash*
"Uhrg, cough*" Fully awoken from the shock of falling into the water, a mouthful water was coughed up.
Luo Si floated on the water, feeling sad, while looking at the stalactites. "Look at you. The great Raging Windbreaker Empress, falling so low as to be tricked by water. Even the moon is looking down on you. …the moon?!"
The sadness was swapped aside when she looked at the ceiling. A full moon shone through the glasslike laces.
With all her might she sprang up to the roof, fist leading.
Dong* Splash*
'Au' The plan to escape ended as quickly as it appeared, with a swollen hand.
Looking back, she saw no changes. "Are those diamonds? I couldn't even accomplish a single crack."
She ran her Qigong to heal up, but was overwhelmed by a sudden energy rushing into her body.
"Mm…" Hong Luo Si had such great pleasure, she nearly forgot she was trapped.
The feeling vanished after the light went out. "Unbelievable. After bathing for 2 hours, my body and cultivation made a remarkable improvement. This should be equal to half a week's cultivation."
A morning view entered her eyes when she checked how much time passed on the camped exit.
"Back to meditation, I guess." Hong Luo Si said when she saw the snakes' sharp gazes.
Time flew by.
1 hour… 4 hours… 12 hours…
When 20 hours passed, the pond began to glow anew.
"Ahh… So good~. Since the pond only shows this effect when the moon is up, how about I call it 'moon dew pond.'" She smirked. "Let's see, you sneaky snake who has more patience."
1 day… 2 days…
"The scout! Didn't they want to come today?" The talk with the library guard popped back up in her head. "Oh… OH… Snake you hear me? If I miss my chance, you better not show yourself. You understand."
She stepped her training up a level. Blood started spewing out of her from every cut as she quenched her body aggressively with qi, but the bleeding lessened and became heavier instead when she multitasked the 'Frozen glacier body.'
She did not lessen her training when bathing. In fact, she went beyond sense when she found out that the moon light gave her spirit energy cups, no, wells in a somewhat invincible mode, continuedly healing and replenishing her body and spirit.
…
Meanwhile in the chief's office in the Min village.
"Hmm, I wonder what's taking the two so long. They said they were one of the best mercenaries. Maybe they are having a 'fun' time with her. That vile thing deserves it. I even heard she chose a skill from the traitorous village. Hmph, whatever. As long as that girl doesn't appear, I'm happy." Chief Min Song scuffed.
The office door swung open right he finished his thought and a young secretary entered. "Sir, the envoy has arrived at the gates."
