Wuying felt like a 'déjà vu' hit him and his eyes contracted in fear.
Peng*
Jidan swung his sword behind him, but his triceps was punched back to the front.
He wanted to turn around the other side, yet his request was denied with a knee driven into the left ass cheek. The arrogant smile on his face vanished
Bam*
In panic, he attempted to escape by jumping forward, but all power lost in vain when another foot stomped on his achilleas.
Any kind of action was shattered by the person, no, monster, behind him. He was scared as more and more attacks arrived on his back.
"I… Argh!"
Pah!
A fist punched the back of his head, making Jidan bite his tongue.
"No surrender." A calm, yet chilling to the bones, statement rose up from behind.
The sword wielder felt his every move read by his opponent before he executed it.
"Mama! What is going on? This is no longer a battle between kids." The onlookers were flabbergasted by the play.
The sun hung low and a long shadow stretched on the ground, depicturing him as a puppet and whatever was behind him was the puppet master, moving the strings to his will.
"Stop!" The village chief said in a loud voice.
The main judge denied his request though. "Only when one surrenders or drops to the ground can the match be decided."
Luo Si knew that she would win when her opponent fell. 'But where would be the fun in that?'
'No! I need to stop her!' The chief attentively watched with a grim expression, as his son was bullied, waiting for a chance to strike. His son's scared shrieks made him more agitated by the minute.
His chance arrived when Luo Si delivered a final uppercut. The body was flung into the middle of the sun.
'Hah'
A big mental wave crushed onto the person standing on the ground.
He looked over to Hantian only to see the latter already looking in his direction with sharp eyes.
Hantian could guess that Min Song would use some dirty moves, but personaly intervene was definetly below his limit.
Min Song had expected him to notice, but he was ready to take the icy stare as his sons' opponent was only a lowly servant, while he only defended his son.
The next second however, he was shocked when the noble elder smirked.
'Did he not value his servant the least?'
Thud*
"Number 213 wins!" The words sounded like thunder in the big chief's ears after the staged body hit the floor.
He turned around and saw the winner softly landing on the ground and his son lying down unconscious some steps away.
"Good thing I practiced 'Mirror Mind enough to deflect mental attacks or else the sword stroke would have costed me my life." Hong Luo Si said under her breath.
The fight had been very demanding on her body and soul.
"But… how… no, don't tell me!" Min Song tried to make sense of the outcome and like a lightning strike did he contract his eyes to the size of a needle.
The female servant had punched her opponent in the lower back should have catapulted him up, but a foot placed on his Achilles transferred that upwards power back to the initiator. After Jidans' momentary scream ended, did she jump into the air. Turning in the sun as if being thrown for a final attack.
The setting sun made both individuals indistinguishable, confusing Min Song as to strike down whom.
…
Boom*
Min Song heavily landed on the stage and dashed at the winner, ready to strike her. "You demon!"
Luo Si had not let down her guard and was about to move as well. Feeling Son Ming's stare, Luo Si remained unafraid. Her fists did not fear, nor did they discriminate.
Pah*
His fist was caught by the main judge. He would usually not dare to fend off the chief, but in a weakened state he decided to intervene.
Fu Hantian was also standing behind the arbiter.
"Chief, it would be wiser to attend your son than causing a scene." The judge said in a heavy tone.
"Hmph. You will get your money later." Min Song witheld his facial capillaries from exploding and walked off to his son.
"En. I will gladly accept the ~TEN thousand gold." The businessman replied. When he stressed out the number ten Min Song stopped in his way for a moment and lowly cursed. The latter knew he was openly blackmailed for his previous action.
The arbiter turned his head around and threw something at Luo SI. "Here, a small compensation."
She looked at what she had caught. It was a small ball, smelling as wonderful as a flower bed. "A pill!"
Pills, the best way to nourish cultivators on their progress to becoming stronger in every aspect. Not only in strength, but pills could also boost, heal or poison someone. The possibilities were endless. The pill Luo Si received for example was a recovery pill.
The girl and noble raised their brows in union. The healing pill in her embrace was not of the lowest quality, clearly aimed to shut her mouth about what happened.
Hantian came closer and inspected the pill in detail. "Ahem, this is indeed a pill you are in need of… although it could also fetch for a good price. And as your master-"
Luo Si gulped down the shush money right in front of the Aristocrat's eyes, realizing that the earlier might not be able to control his greed. Her body was actually seriously in need of aid right now.
The old man stood agape, not knowing whether to laugher or cry though. 'How can she be so shameless? That pill was worth at least a dozen gold coins.' He could only sigh at the loss. "Just call it another investment."
Using the foundations breathing technique Luo Si focused on spreading the medical property inside her body to the areas in need. Only using the breathing skill made her realize how exhausted her physical state actually was. 'Without doubt, this body is still too weak. It cannot withstand high combat. A minute at best.'
In the second half of the fight she had let loose. Because her meridian circle was so big, she could muster power beyond her range. However, on account of having such a grand network early on, her body could not keep up with the strainous usage. No matter how good the foundation, one could not skip the human parameters if the shell was still at infant stage.
The main judge cleared his throat, looking at the dazed audience. "Ahem* the winner of the 49th junior fighter competition is Miss…"
"2-1-3" Luo Si said dully. She just wanted this child contest to end quickly.
"Yes, Miss 213. A grand applause for the winner." He repeated awkwardly.
Cheer* The gathered people still did not know what was going on, but cheered for the winner nonetheless.
"Oh man, that was so awesome. First was slash, then pa-pa-pa, followed by a wa-pam*. Dude, halfway through, I did not know what was going on any longer, but it was still awesome. Even the cutscene with the two old man."
"I know, right? I still have goosebumps. Too bad nobody knows how to record that shit. That was pure movie material." The players were in ecstasy, reviewing the what happened in the final.
"F*** the movie industry, did you not listen? That pill was worth 10 gold coins. That player just gulped sown 10 gold coins like it's nothing."
"What do you think about that girl?" Min Shiled asked from afar.
Zhihao turned around and left, but a word still moved his lips. "Dangerous."
The girl next the Zhihao took in a cold breath, not expecting One of the strongest hunters to evaluate this competitions winner so highly.
Back on stage.
Hantian looked deeply at Luo Si. "Truly a wonderous being. You should rest for the day and pick up your prize tomorrow. We on the other hand will make our way back to the kingdom."
"We?"
"Yes, me and my nephew have already stayed for too long. I actually did not intend to stay till the end of the tournament, but it turned out to be the right decision. Do you want to come with us? You are a servant of the Fu after all."
Given the option Luo Si was silent for a moment, but shook her head. "No, my path is a different one."
"Mhm, you are not someone who takes shortcuts. A true cultivator never makes his path easier or else he will fall miserably." The old man nodded in praise.
The girl rolled her eyes. She did not decide against the kingdom because she did not want her life to be easy. No, there was much more to gain on the path she decided on, the whole land would be open to her after this and she would take it.
There was in fact also another reason. She did not want to end up as Wuyings' house maiden.
