No one's P.O.V
Sheylia swung open the doors to the girls change room. She sees some girls changing their clothes and some just talking with their friends. But, she wasn't changing in here.
She speed walks towards the bathroom, and quickly locks the stall door. Putting the toilet lid down, she places her gym bag on the lid. Quickly stripping her clothes and switching them to her gym clothes; a black t-shirt, black pair of leggings, different than the ones she was wearing earlier, and her runners. She tied her brown, shoulder length hair into a high pony and left the girls bathroom.
After she finished putting her gym bag in one of the free lockers, she headed towards the gymnasium for her class.
A whistle was heard, motioning all the females to huddle around the teacher.
"Okay, so today we are going to be running laps around the track outside!" Ms.Askner said loudly, earning groans from almost all the girls as they started walking towards the big, grey double doors.
"Well I'm glad we are doing something I enjoy and am good at," Sheylia thought as she felt the warm summer heat on her skin, making her way to the large track, with her purple water bottle in her hands.
Sheylia loved running because it was an opportunity to block out the rest of the world and just be with herself.
After placing her water bottle on the bleachers she began stretching.
"Okay ladies, just run until I blow the whistle to signal that the class has ended. And, remember to drink your water, especially you Ashley, we don't need you fainting again," the teacher chuckled. Sheylia nodded her head in response, tightened her ponytail, then began jogging.
Already three laps around the track, she kept going and going. The idea of her stopping never crossed her mind, she just kept running. Her legs feeling as if they could go on forever. She looked around her, passing a small group of girls who were talking amongst each other while slowly jogging. In front of her, she could see two girls racing. She smiles as memories of when she and her sister would always race against each other appeared in her mind, they would spend all afternoon sprinting around the parks flat, grassy fields.
"I wish we could do that again," she sadly thought to herself. Seeing a few girls stopping to take a drink, she followed as well. Gulping down the ice cold water, loving the refreshing feeling of the cool liquid running down her throat. After taking a few more sips she decided to take off again.
Dirt being flung behind her every time she lifted off the track.
"Why can't we do this more often?" She asks herself. She was feeling pretty good, when suddenly, she remembered when Lyde rubbed up against her earlier. Feeling furious she sped up her pace, earning many looks from everyone.
"Ugh! I can't believe he did that, in school even!" She angrily thought to herself. Her brows furrowed as she started breathing faster, feeling her legs begin to tire out from how fast she was running.
"Why do I just let him do that!" blaming herself again like always,
"If I would just tell someone, or..or, even him," she thought,
"If I tell him directly then it will show Lyde that I'm not scared of him anymore, and that I have had enough!" She yelled to herself. Wiping some beads of sweat off her forehead and letting out a shaky breath, she keeps sprinting, trying to run away from her thoughts and emotions.
Head empty, she listens to her heart beating and herself trying to get as much oxygen inside her lungs as possible. Her legs starting to cramp and her feet feeling heavy.
A loud whistle was finally blown signalling that class was over.
Sheylia began to slow her speed, finishing her twentieth lap around the paved track and jogged to where she had left her water bottle.
After changing back into her oversized, lavender hoodie, leggings, and black Doc Martin's, she runs her cucumber scented deorderant under her arms and let's her hair down. Running her small hand through her soft brown locks, she exited the girls change room, and made her way to her locker.
"I forgot to pack a lunch," Sheylia said while looking towards her friend, who was putting her books back inside her locker.
"That's fine, I can share mine with you!" Mia happily said, giving a small smile to Sheylia. A few seconds later Mia locks her locker with her lunch box in hand.
"Let's go shall we?" She asked the younger girl, who nodded and began walking with her friend.
Once they arrived in the cafeteria and found a table to sit at, they began eating their lunch, well Mia's lunch. Talking about what they did during class and Sheylia bragging about how she ran twenty laps around the track. The two finished eating, cleaned their area and left to their lockers. They bid each other their goodbyes and went to their last class.
Sheylia entered her English class and walked to the desk in the back right corner of the classroom, beside the big window looking out into the streets, and sat down.
*RING* *RING*
The English teacher walked in and began his lecture. The hour and thirty minutes seemed to always go by fast when Sheylia would look out the window and watch people walk by.
The end of the day bell rang through Sheylia's ears as she gathered all her belongings and went to her locker. After getting her backpack and hugging Mia goodbye, she left and started walking back home.
Opening the door to her house, she stepped in, closed the door behind her and let out a long, satisfied sigh.
