Chapter 3 - The Power of Fenrir, the Divine Creature

Upon realizing that I was stronger than them, I began walking slowly towards the goblins. Strangely, they remained still, and the same applied to the adventurers. I wondered why they weren't moving, and this was the most important question to ask at that moment. At first, I thought it was just a characteristic of the monsters, but the adventurers were also immobile.

"System, is my stealth ability still active?" I asked. "And why aren't they moving?"

[System]: Host, it's due to your divine aura.

"Because I'm a god?" I asked.

I realized I could take advantage of this situation. They must have thought I was a monstrous creature, which gave me an advantage. I began to approach the adventurers and the goblins slowly while keeping my divine aura active to keep them motionless.

Suddenly, one of the goblins moved, causing me to stop. I became tense, thinking that my ability might have failed, but I soon realized that the goblin was simply staggering, as if about to faint.

As I watched, the other goblins and the adventurers also started looking dizzy and confused. I realized that my divine aura was affecting everyone around me and decided to act quickly.

Taking advantage of the confusion, I leaped towards the nearest goblins, my sharp claws ready to attack. Those slimy beings had no idea what was happening, as my divine aura left them paralyzed.

I used it to my advantage and attacked them with overwhelming force, tearing their skins and breaking their bones within seconds. The other goblins, who had not yet been affected by my aura, began to move and tried to defend themselves with their rusty shields and spears. They were more agile than I thought, but still far inferior in strength and skill.

I dodged their attacks and counterattacked with a swift blow, cutting through their weapons and leaving them vulnerable. Then, in a fluid motion, I struck their throats, finishing them off once and for all. The battle was swift and efficient, and I emerged unscathed. The adventurers watched everything with wide eyes, astonished by my strength and ability. I looked at them calmly and said:

"Kneel!" I said loudly, with the confidence of a god. The adventurers and the goblins immediately stopped in their tracks and knelt before me. Seizing the opportunity, I attacked the nearest goblins with my sharp claws, easily knocking them down. The battle was quick, and within minutes, the enemies were defeated and lay dead by my side.

[System]: The host has gained a follower.

"I sense nothing coming from these adventurers."

[System]: One of the people in the camp is a 17-year-old human named Lara. You can see her loyalty level on your status panel.

After pondering for a few seconds, I stared at the adventurers, and my majestic voice resonated once again: "My name is Fenrir, also known as the god of magic." As soon as I finished speaking, the adventurers trembled.

"You mortals must help a human named Lara who is in this camp. If you harm her in any way, I will kill you in the most cruel manner possible." Of course, I was only bluffing, but who knows, maybe they would believe me.

At that moment, I activated my stealth ability and vanished from the adventurers' sight completely.

The adventurers stood paralyzed, not understanding what was happening. After all, they had witnessed a divine being before them, and suddenly all the goblins were killed within seconds. The powerful voice of the divine being echoed in their ears, commanding them to help a human named Lara who was in the camp.

When Fenrir disappeared before their eyes, they were even more astonished. How could such a powerful being exist? And what was his intention in asking for help for an unknown human?

Manuele, the elf, let out a sigh of relief as the divine creature vanished into thin air, falling to the ground. Drog, on the other hand, writhed in pain on the ground, feeling his wounds. Layla pulled the spear out of his leg, tearing her own shirt to make a makeshift bandage.

"I told you we should have brought a healer with us," Drog complained.

"Who would have known we'd encounter so many goblins, and even a divine being," said Manuela.

"I studied at the Swordsmanship Academy, and I've never heard of a god named Fenrir, let alone one with mastery over magic," added Layla.

Manuele cautiously stood up, surveying her surroundings. "What should we do now? Should we follow the words of that divine being?" she asked the other adventurers while remaining alert, ready for any threat that might arise. Layla finished tending to her wounds and joined them.

"I don't trust divine beings, they always have hidden motives," grumbled Drog as he struggled to stand up. "But we have to help this Lara person, we can't ignore their request."

Manuele nodded in agreement. "Yes, he seemed genuinely concerned about this person. Besides, we can't ignore the fact that this powerful divine being may be watching us right now."

They moved forward, walking through the desolate camp. Passing among the bodies of the goblins, Drog limped due to his injuries, while Layla walked by his side, keeping the makeshift bandage in place. Manuele remained alert, her senses sharpened in search of any sign of danger.

They knew they would have to transport the survivors to the nearest village, but how would they find the girl named Lara? It was a challenging task in such a large and chaotic camp. The elf considered using her tracking skills, but before she could suggest it, they heard a cry of pain coming from one of the nearby tents.

Drog and Layla rushed over there, while Manuele quickly disappeared into the shadows, using her stealth ability to approach unnoticed. Inside the tent, they found a young human girl lying on a bed, groaning in pain.

Manuele remained hidden in the shadows, observing the situation closely. They would have to leave soon, and they needed to ensure the safety of the women for the journey.

Meanwhile, Fenrir watched everything from afar, his presence still concealed from the adventurers. He knew he would need to help them again soon, and perhaps even reveal himself fully. But for now, he watched silently.
