"I am not your baby," Bella declared. I saw the seriousness in her gaze, and I finally could no longer lie to myself that everything was fine. The previous day when Bella first saw me, her reaction was not to run over and hug me.
We had been apart for months, and I missed her so much, but she suspected me of being part of the kidnappers. She only trusted me after she spoke to her mother. Even then, she did not apologise for hurting me. I did not blame her for this. After all, she was scared.
