Emmanuel and Wilfred arrived in time, and the pilot and the plane were ready. We went inside and waited for the announcement for the plan to take off. I took the phone meant to communicate with Aunty Mary.

"Wait," just as the door to the plane was closing, we heard a voice outside.
"Carl" I was surprised that he came.
"Why are you here?" Wilfred asked. I could see that I was not the only one who was surprised.
"I thought about what you said; at times like this, we should be there for each other," Carl said and sat next to me. "I spoke with my brother, and he agreed to help me finish my work. Ray has been there for my family, so he is happy to help," Carl explained as he parted my shoulder as a way to comfort me.
