Carl paced in his sitting room as he waited for Ray to take the call. He had a million possibilities running through his mind. He did not realize how much he was into Elizabeth until he watches her walk out.
He felt as heartbroken as he was the day he found out that the woman he loves, loved another.
It hurt more than that time. Maybe it was because he knew Elizabeth was his until he hurt her and broke her trust. He knew he should not have carried out that stupid investigation but he was scared of getting heartbroken again.
He was scared of experience what Ray did. He was scared. He knew he should explain things to her and not let her leave but he was scared that he would say something that will hurt her more.
He somehow forgets that Elizabeth was also a person with a heart that could also get hurt. He knew that the presence of Anita would have also annoyed her. Who knew what she whispered into her ear before leaving.
