Nakawara and Sana stare one another down as they stand on opposite sides of the arena, both of them pretty tense. I know I should be looking at the screen as well, but something's compelling me to watch this fight with my full focus. I know I shouldn't, but I do so anyways, intently at that. The horn sounds for them to begin, but neither of them make a move. They both just stand there, not even taking a stance to prepare themselves. They simply stand there and continue to stare each other down.
Then, all of a sudden, Nakawara speaks. "You know, I never really understood you, four eyes." The front half of his forearms turn into several small cubes, until perfect squares are formed, almost like dual shields. Despite that, Sana continues not to say or do anything as he listens to what Nakawara has to say. "I get we're all pretty bad people for treating boosters the way we do...hell, we're not pretty bad, we're god awful. I personally have never really had a problem with them, yet I turned a blind eye whenever I saw how they were treated in the school. I'm sure most of us here can say the same thing. After seeing the way those two fought, Genta and Gentarō, I realize that what we've been doing is honestly really shitty. Sitting back and just letting someone get beat up...is really fucked up. But you...you hate them with a passion. Why? What could they have possibly ever done to you?"
"I don't expect an incompetent fool such as yourself to realize it." Sana says without skipping a beat, creating a single cube in his hand and sending it flying toward Nakawara. Nakawara quickly puts up his shields to defend, the cube bouncing off of them, but Sana sends a small barrage of them to continue his assault, keeping Nakawara on the defensive.
"Just know that people such as yourself and Usana really are a disgusting disgrace to a school like this. This school was made specifically for us, acolytes, elite humans, and yet acolytes like you and Usana are so highly revered." Sana holds up his hand, creating a rather large cube this time.
Seeing this, Nakawara quickly runs and jumps to avoid being hit by the giant cube, and he does, though more start flying his way. "Ah!" He runs, jumping and weaving through the several large cubes and using his shields to defend himself as best as he can, though he stumbles and gets knocked around a little bit here and there whenever a smaller cube catches him by surprise.
"You use silly tricks and mind games to help you win a fight. That doesn't deserve respect, nor is there any honor behind it. The only ones who deserve respect and honor are the ones who use pure power and talent alone!" Nakawara looks up as he finishes sliding under one of the larger cubes, his eyes going wide as he sees a wall of cubes flying right toward him. He turns around to run, but sees another wall of cubes formed from the rest of the cubes he's avoided thus far. Having nowhere to run, he turns his entire body cubical, the best thing an emenator class Cube Acolyte can do to defend themselves.
Both cube walls slam into Nakawara from both sides, making him grunt as he still feels every ounce of pain he would normally, but his power keeps his body from being physically injured. A smaller cube comes flying out of nowhere and uppercuts Nakawara, several more hitting him back and forth and making him bounce off the two walks until he's suspended in midair. While he's in the air, several other cubes smack into Nakawara's body, knocking him back and forth and not giving him a second to breathe. "This is just...brutal..." I mumble as I watch the fight. Gentarō doesn't say anything however, just as focused on the fight as I am it seems.
"See? Just look at how weak and pathetic you are. You can't even fight back!" Sana lightly yells as he creates a large cube and slams Nakawara's body into the ground with it. As the cube slowly floats off the ground, Nakawara is reverted to his natural state, clearly knocked out. Despite this, before the announcer can say anything, Sana suddenly slams the cube back down on Nakawara, then again, and again.
"What the heck is he doing..?!" I clench my fists tightly.
"This is what you get... Anyone who dares to act like such a disgrace shall be punished when I become this school's student council president!" Sana raises his arm and the cube goes all the way to the ceiling.
"Genta, boost, now." Gentarō says with his hair and eyes already glowing, and he jumps out of his seat. I don't hesitate to do as he says, and with his full boost activated, he easily punches through the thin barrier, lands beside Nakawara's unconscious and beaten form, and merely holds up his fist. The cube slams down onto Gentarō, but neither he nor the cube budges an inch, though Gentarō's arm does shake as he holds back the cube, and he's glaring daggers at Sana. "That's enough..! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Sana narrows his eyes, angered. "You dare interfere..?"
"You're talking about honor and respect...yet you're beating a man senseless when he's already down and out for the count! There's no respect or honor in an action like that you bastard!" Gentarō clenches his fists tightly.
"Worms like him get what they deserve." Sana states clearly. "Why you..!" Gentarō manages to punch the cube upwards, grab Nakawara, and begins rushing toward Sana, and Sana begins to react in turn.
However, several cubes surround them both and block them off from each other. "That's enough, both of you." The principal's voice comes in over the speakers, startling everyone, and making Gentarō and Sana freeze. "You both can settle this in the next round or the final. Now both of you, step out of the arena this instant." Gentarō and Sana scoff at one another before slowly walking off of the arena.
"Are you alright..?" I ask as Gentarō makes it back over to me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Little pissed, but I'm alright." He shakes his right hand a bit, probably in pain from stopping that massive cube.
"Alright, that's it folks! What an interesting turn of events, no?" Mr. Nagako laughs into the mic. "It only makes me more excited for the semi finals tomorrow! Make sure you come ready for some action, for our best four students will be fighting for the title of student council president! Have a great rest of your day, dismissed."
