*alarm rings*
I slowly opened my eyes as the alarm started to ring, attempting to wake me up for my 12 hour shift in the ER.
I came to a sitting position and allowed my body to adjust from the horrible six hours of sleep I barely get on a regular basis.
Apparently there was a new attending doctor who was going to start today; a transfer from another hospital. It was only going to go two ways: either the guy was nice and knew what he was doing or he was a dick that also knew what he was doing.
Besides that thought running through my mind, I remembered that it was a Monday, and usually 7 am-7 pm shifts aren't the best one could hope for.
I started getting dressed into my scrubs, did my hair, brushed my teeth, put my shoes on, grabbed my keys and headed out to the car.

As I arrived to work, I had this bad feeling that something was gonna happen today, not necessarily bad just that something was going to happen.
I walked into the hospital, seeing all of night shift, waving hello and saying good morning and sat in the waiting area out by the cafeteria until it was time to clock in.
-
Getting up to clock in, I saw a group of people, mostly women, I've never seen group together before with some tall, muscular figure I have never encountered before. This must be the attending everyone was talking about, and to be fair, there was a lot just by the looks of the guy, to talk about.
-
Clocked in and after shift report, I walked over to my assigned area, or what we like to call Pods in the ER. I started the day off by checking if I needed to relieve night shift, do EKGs, restock the rooms, and complete the controls for the glucose and hemocue device. By the time I finished all my restocking and other tasks for the morning, it was about to be 9 in the morning, and I could not believe two hours had gone by since i clocked in.
I noticed the attending doctors were packing up and getting ready for shift change at 3. Hopefully I did not have to experience today whether or not this new guy was either a nice guy or total dick.

There he was, in all his glory. As he walked in, it was if there was a change in atmosphere. All the female nurses seemed to be flustered and started fixing up their looks for this guy. I even noticed myself to break a smile and start blushing, but I turned around and walked over to a patient's room that needed an EKG.
After the EKG, I went to the doctor's station and said "Here is the EKG for the patient in room 7"
One of the attending doctors walked up behind me said, "Oh that's my patient"
I turned around and got a good look of this guy.
You have to be kidding, I thought to myself, the new guy in my pod. Shit. Lets see how this turns out for the rest of my shift.
"I'm Dr. Santana" he said confidently. "Who are you?" with a smug look on his face.
I could feel myself getting flustered and red in the face. I replied with "I'm-I'm Jared, the unit tech."
"Oh, that's why your wearing those repulsive colored scrubs." he said with a scoff.
"Uh, red?" I replied
Santana looked at me up and down asked "Did you need something else? or did you not have anything better to do with your time?"
