Chapter 1 - Once Upon a Superstition

It was a fall day and our Lana walked alone with her puppy thinking over all the ideas she channeled greatly to psychics in world wide view. She really loved Ana's ways and sayings. Learning to be psychic was just as easy as 1-2-3...or does that make 123? In numerology, any number sequence in a forward consecutive pattern developed a consistent noticing and a way to say "progress". Any number pattern developed in reverse would be a sign for "backwards thinking". Signs along one's journey is the best kept private...certainly.

Once she looked and saw a ladder in her direction. Her Nana had told her about these things. It was angled so that she clearly could just walk through it. Well, in literal ways she could never walk through it...so... yes, under it was the way she imagined she could be. So, why did Nana say never walk under a ladder? Oh! Bad Luck! Ana told her that there was no such thing as bad luck. Truly.

When people don't want accidents to happen then you know there is a way to have people stop, look and listen. Warnings are everywhere if you think that you should never drop a mirror and please don't spill the salt. Seven years bad luck was the penalty and even then "back in my day" stories would be the dread, for reals. Lana would always have her manners, but boy the other kids rolled the eyes to the point of making the adults hold their hands out to catch them should they expel from the ocular cavity and be noticed the best way: junked.

She shuddered to think of glass eye implants. She hoped Ana wasn't giving her these ideas. Ana?

Ana could tell her a story once in awhile, but if she allowed too many then her reality started to seam together with the psychic ways Ana would share magickal stories with her and she wondered could her clairvoyant skills soar any higher. Sparkles and glitter were her favorite arts and crafts, while wisps of black or white waved in front of her like besties in a relaxed fiction with her Ana. While the stories were not real, her Ana really is!
