(1/3) THE BEST PLAYER
"So tell me about yourself, perhaps, what you do for a living?"
I said, as I glance at my Chanel wristwatch while cutting through my well-done steak. "I'm the CEO of a rising real estate company in Ortigas." He replied, looking straight to my eyes.
One word, boastful. I know what he'll say. He's one of the assholes in my list.
He keeps mumbling about himself and his achievements. "I graduated with flying colors at Yale and got my masters from Cambridge." Typical playful businessman, that's what he is.
If I ask you to introduce yourself, what I mean is tell me who you are as a person. Describe yourself based on your own perception. I had enough of their personal biography. Your educational background doesn't make you a less person.
Having those achievements doesn't make you high and almighty.
Tell me something about yourself, simply means tell me something I don't know.
"That's great." I stopped myself from rolling my eyes. I still want to preserve my good image.
I quickly studied his face. Thick eyebrows, glistening eyes, and his smirking face.
He's definitely that type. My description basically suits his taste. "I have to do something."
I pressed the hidden button on my sapphire earrings. I made it not noticeable as I tuck my platinum blonde hair behind my ears.
His phone rang, after a few seconds. It only means something.
"I'm sorry, I need to take this call."
"Go on, I don't mind."
I flashed my sweetest smile. "It worked. Well, when will it not?" I secretly smirked at the thought. His eyebrows furrowed. His breathing was not usual.
He's trying to control his temper. "Oh, what a temperamental asshole. Such a waste of my time."
"I think we need to continue this next time."
"I'm sorry? Come again?"
I'm not fond of second chances. Once is enough. We don't reuse what we've been thrown. Unless you're a nature lover like Gloria..
But that bitch promotes zero-waste disposal.
"Something came up. We're working to troubleshoot the problem."
"Go, Mr. Alejandro. I don't really mind."
"Thanks, I got to go." I sipped the finest champagne. He looked at me apologetically. I gave him a motioning gaze. "That's right, leave."
He hurriedly stride away towards the door. "I hate those kind of guys", I thought. "They don't trust their employees. They'll just leave you, showing that you're not important to them."
I know how boys think and play. I can do better though. I'm the best player.
I've been there, and done that.
I finished my cold flute of champagne and settled my bill. "Amber cuisine serves the best date. Oh please note my sarcasm." I smirked at myself as I gracefully take my leave.
Most of their customers are around my circle. They either do business meetings here or some epic date that'll turn out like a disaster.
I remember how Anne and Mrs. Valentino met. I'm very much aware of their chaotic scene. I know everything. I have eyes and ears everywhere. That's how Dela Vega connection works.
I walked with sophistication. All eyes on me. I really can't deny this divine beauty.
A familiar figure came out somewhere. I know this guy, I met him in Coron. His chinky eyes glint. "Hi! Do you remember me?"
I nodded. "Yes, you're Patrick Chua. Am I right?" Of course, I'm always right. "Sharp memory, eh?" His lips curved. His posture changed.
I'm not that easy. Flirting with me is a huge risk. I'm not backing down to such challenge. "This memory never fails." I met his flirting gaze with the same intensity.
"How about a coffee date with me?"
"Sounds fun, I'm in. Tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow then."
He chuckled. "Want a ride?" "smooth-talker, hmmn interesting." I smiled sweetly. "Sure lead the way." I'm not dumb to let this guy or any other guys I barely know, step or even gaze my precious abode.
I followed him towards a shiny grey Audi. "Not bad for a guy like him."
He opened the door on the passenger side first and carefully closed it after I settled myself in. "Where to?" He ask me, as he set himself at the driver seat.
"DV Residences." It's a condominium unit owned by yours truly.
He's fun. We exchanged stories for the whole ride, we arrived in no time. I enjoyed it. "Thanks for the ride." He smiled and replied, "You're welcome."
He hurriedly opened the passenger door and guided me out the vehicle, like a true gentleman. He slowly came a little close and offered his hand. "So friends?" We have this rule about handshakes. Bitches and I made that.
I accepted it. "Friends." He's an exemption. With a smile on his face, He drove away. When he's no where insight, i whipped out my phone and dialed my dear friend.
"Hello, Gloria? I have something for you." I smirked upon hearing her annoyed reply. "I know what I'm doing. Just trust me." I ended the call.
Instead of going inside the building, I walked around the parking lot, towards my electric blue Lamborghini Aventador. Once I'm settled and comfortable, I stepped on the gas.
I'm always one step ahead of every single game. I like things under my control.
And I intend to keep that way..
(2/3) THE QUEEN
The sound of my heels clacking made their breath hitched. Everyone stood and bow down.
That's right, bow down to your Queen.
The doors automatically opened. All board members are completely present. The screen is on and the presentation's title page was in freeze.
The meeting started as soon as I sat on my throne. I just listened and gathered ideas mentally. There's a lot to mind. I hate bunch of fools in my Queendom.
"The sales increase from 30 to 31%. We have nothing to worry about." The lady pressentor said with her nervous smile "They called this monthly report? That one percent is not enough."
"Nothing to worry huh? Our monthly sales should fall around fifty percent and above. That's our minimum target. The budget was enough to suffice the whole project. What the hell happened?" Her face paled. I was not called cunning and ruthless for nothing.
"Did you really think that I wouldn't know about the holding off project budgets for your personal expenses?" "Fools!" My temper's slowly rising every ticking second. "Also, an information reached my attention, that someone is conspiring with the insecure competitors against this company, Right, Mr. Royal?" I flashed my widest grin.
"Not only that, embezzlement? Really?" I tried to calmed myself down by inhaling and exhaling deeply. "Rina!" She nodded in response. She handed me the blue pouch containing my favorite pistol.
"I hate traitors." It ended with a loud bang and the holes on my newly painted wall made it superb. "Clean the mess. Call the security… and medic." I didn't even shot them but these pests still fainted.
I'm still..in my good mood. "My friends will be proud on how my patience- meter last." I proudly thought to myself
"You still have an appointment with Mr. Sandoval in thirty minutes, Miss Hime."
"Is that the last?" She shook her head. "A meeting with guardians at four pm." I exhaustedly sighed.
A long dreadful day, ahead.
(3/3) PRINCESS FROM HELL
"I heard what you did to your stepsister and her friends. We're disappointed, you could have let the authorities settle it." I chuckled at his comment.
"You think that will stop them?" He just looked at me blankly. "That bitch will just continue what she started. Species like her, should learn lessons from the most courteous girl in Troum."
Another voice joined the conversation. "As the founder of an organization who swore to protect mankind from the demons, you sound evil." I dramatically gasped in response.
"Heiress, my dear." I paused. "To defeat demons, you should think and fight just like them."
"You'll just let your friends —Anne and Gloria to join you as well? You're adding fuel from the fire. You're slowly dragging them to hell."
"We've been through hell, Shekainah. I won't let others suffer from it too. My enemies are the only exemption though." I replied.
Seriously, this conversation is getting nowhere. They can't stop me—us rather.
Someone cleared his throat. "Let her be, ladies. I'm sure she has a plan. Hime will not disappoint us, right?" A small smirk slowly formed on my lips.
"Of course, Knight. When did I even disappoint all of you? Well exempt for your sentiments, Let's proceed to our next topic please."
Relief flooded over me when they dropped the topic. I don't want anybody interfering with my actions. If don't, I might include them on the hell's free-trial that I'm planning.
"Meeting adjourned." Knight finished this almost two full hours meeting. "It's so boring listening to their achingly emotional commentary."
"How's Hydra, Hime?" Knight really love annoying the hell out of me. "Still standing…" He only chuckled at my annoyed response. "What an attention seeker, this guy is."
I noticed that, it was just us alone in the room. I'm not really comfortable with this guy. Well, in my defense, this Knight doesn't really look trustworthy though.
Knight is only his codename. He's privacy- freak. I'm not interested in his life and his biography anyway. He's not worth of my attention.
All of us, guardians, use codenames to hide our identity. I know them all, except this jerk.
He inched his face forward towards my direction. "I'm watching you from afar." His teeth gritted. "I don't like what I'm seeing. Play your cards well, little princess."
I really hate this guy. He dared to challenge my reign. I won't let him!
"Game on. Just a friendly reminder, 'loser' will not be attached in my name." our faces are now only inches apart.
"I should take my leave, head guardian."
He may manipulate things around him, including this league, but not me.
"Being the game changer doesn't suit him". That's what I thought..
"Everyone can deceive you. Even the most trusted person you know.
So relax, take a deep breath and only trust one person..
That's your own self. And the superbeing up there. Well, if you have faith in Him.
I'm the best player, my own empire's queen and most of all, I'm that princess—I can make you taste hell."
