"AAAAAHHHH!" Jordan's scream revibrated the whole room and echoed violently. It sounded much painful to the extinct that it made me want to run away from this room but I couldn't. This is just his diary pains. Every monster present in this prison had to go through this pain. As he was not used to it, it made him harder. It's just like a test. The guards called it Regeneration Test. Yeah, it's a test to check the level of the monsters. As monsters regenerate differently from one another. The guards would take them to a room alone and chop their hands and legs. The time it would take to regenerated the limps would be noted on the tablets. For Jodan, Mr. Lukas is in charge of this test. He was doing it more violently. The weapon he was using was a 'Chainsaw' A pretty deadly weapon. I could see the terror in Jodan's eyes as he was screaming and yelling for help but there was no one. He was looking at me in search of help but I had my eyes averted. It was truly an unpleasant sight. Mr. Lukas didn't feel anything for Jodan rather he was enjoying it as he had a deviling grin on his depressed face. I couldn't identify who is the real monster here? was is Jodan who was labeled as one or Mr. Lukas who act like a monster but wasn't labeled. Whatever it was I was undoubtedly in a mess. Unable to bear it anymore I turned behind while looking at my phone. The screams were so extreme a mixture of pain and sorrow that they kept distracting me. I would peek from my shoulder. This place was not cleaned for a week or so. The table was engrossed with blood. Mr. Lukas was having a shower of blood. He was getting more and more grudge some with the chainsaw. Small pieces of flesh were shattered everywhere. Mr. Lukas's wrinkled shirt was wet with red blood. The unstoppable Mr. Lukas final concluded. He put down the chainsaw on the table next to him. By the look of it, it was indeed pretty heavy. Then he wiped his sweat with his sleeves.
"Can't look at it? Reyes" HE said with a bit of mockery. I know it's funny for a detective to not able to see such terrible things. It should be common to people like police, detectives, and doctors. There's a saying a weak-hearted man can't be a doctor the same goes for a detective. If you can't deal with it then there's no reason for you to become a detective.
"U-Umm, Something like that." gathering my courage, I intended to look at Jodan again. But the moment I glared at him, I was thundered.
Blood was dripping from his cut-out legs and hands. The floor became a sea of blood. The eyes of JOdan were red like a rose. The uncleared cut on his limbs was visible but it was covered with red liquid. The undeniable fact is that it looked very much human-looking. It would make a common human confused. They would think of it as a human body. They would never figure it out unless someone told them. Even for a second, I thought of Jodan for a human. On the other hand, Someone didn't care at all. The unwavering grin on Mr. Lukas's face was the proof of it. He was collecting the limps and putting them in a plastic bag while in a squat position. The lips were fallen on the floor with the blood. Mr. Lukas was still grinning as he collects them. I looked at my phone again as if consoling me that I didn't see anything. But that was wrong. I saw everything with details.
"You can't be like this Reyes. This Job is supposed to be really nasty. You have to accept it no matter what. When I wouldn't be here, you have to deal with it." Every job needs hard work. You can't just seat on a chair and do nothing. At the end of the month, you take a paycheck. That might be the case in fantasy novels. But in reality, you have to work your ass off just to earn a single penny. To lead a normal life you have to be a hard worker and I know it better than anyone. One a second thought, why didn't Mr. Lukas said that last sentence? When he wouldn't be?
"Why're are you saying that out of nowhere?" I asked with great wonder. Mr. Lukas has a habit of saying such things without context.
"You wouldn't be always an intern or a junior. Some day you would be a senior officer or perhaps a chief." Mr. Lukas looked straight at me and stood up from his previous position. He had done packing the limps of Jodan.
"You're thinking way too ahead. It's true that I might get a stable position in this department but would take time. I mean a good amount of time."
Mr. Lukas wiped his hand with a paper napkin placed on the large table. This old-fashioned table looked out of the place but it came really handy.
"I don't think so. You're getting better. You should prepare your thesis. Things would get tough if you didn't prepare it earlier." He reminded me of the thesis that half-finished. I totally forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me. You saved a thousand folds of pain.
"Yeah, I'm gonna do it after this." He put his coat on his right hand as if not intending to wear it anymore. It would be stained by the bloody shirt. A good decision. "So, what's the next plan?" I asked out of curiosity. "Jodan isn't uttering a single thing. All he was saying was lies that can't be taken. Moreover, he is hallucinating about the old man."
"I know that. Looks like I have to use that."
"What?"
"You would know soon."
