Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

I sat up once again like any other day. I got out of bed, got ready for school, and made my way to down the stairs. I grabbed my coffee mug and noticed that the mark on my hand was still there. It was faint, it wasn't as visible as yesterday, but if you looked hard enough you could see it.

I just sighed with annoyance as I filled my coffee cup with the typical black coffee. Something bitter like this was sure to get my mind off of everything that was happening. I took a few sips and waited for Jay to wake up. While it may seem strange that this is my daily routine, eventually you get used to it.

I thought back to my dream the other night. Feeling pain in dreams is possible, but feeling pain that intense just seems too strange to ignore. Maybe….I am crazy. Maybe this is just some sick wake up call telling me just how crazy I am.

But how does that explain the mark on my hand? It still hasn't gone away.

"AHHHHHH!" I heard Jay yell from upstairs. I hear him running around upstairs and watch him as he runs to the pantry and pull out a cereal box.

"Why didn't you wake me up!?" He asked me quickly. I smiled.

"I couldn't bring myself to wake such a delicate flower." I whispered.

"Aw, that's sweet. Almost as sweet a mutilated corpse being shoved up your ass!" Jay said with an angry glare.

He sat down next to me and quickly ate his cereal. I smiled again. Watching him try to scarf down his food was amusing. Jay noticed I was staring at him and he turned to me.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Just enjoying the moment. Time like this don't last forever." I told Jay.

Jay seemed to understand what I was saying. He leaned back in his chair, sighing the whole time.

"Times like this may not last forever, but what's stopping you from making them happen again. It may not be the same, but being at peace with someone that you care about, really can cause a person to find something about themselves that they never knew they had." He said to me casually.

I was impressed. I wasn't expecting someone like Jay to share such life changing advice. I giggle a bit, but quickly begin to laugh. Jay didn't look too happy about my laugh though.

"What the hell is so funny!?" He asked me.

"Nothing, I just wasn't expecting you of all people to make me feel better." I said through gasps.

Jay didn't look impressed. He grabbed his now empty bowl and he placed it in the sink. I sat up and we both began to walk to school.

After speaking with Jay, I realized that my stance on everything was flawed. I was taking everything way too seriously. The dreams were just dreams. This mark on hand is probably from some kind of cut or bruise. Everything was fine.

I kept telling myself this and it seemed to calm me down. I sat down at my desk and waiting for the teacher to begin the class. I noticed Ruru sitting at her desk. When she spotted me she seemed surprised. She stood up from her desk and walked over to me.

"L-Look Ruben, about yesterday I-"

"Please, let me stop you right there. There's no need for you to apologize. I was acting of line when you were just trying to help. I'm sorry." I told Ruru.

Ruru was surprised by my sudden apology. I smiled at her and her face went red.

"W-Well, since your apology was so sincere, I guess I have no choice but to forgive you." Ruru said as she turned her face away from me.

The bell rings and the teacher steps in. Ruru walks back to her desk and I focus my attention back on the front of the room.

"Good Morning everyone. Before we begin class we actually have a new student." The teacher began.

A new student? I hadn't heard any rumors about getting a new classmate? This transfer must have been pretty sudden.

The door to the classroom opens and someone walks into the room. The person walks to the board and writes their name on it. Once they finish they face the class. When they did so, I felt my heart stop.

This person, I knew this person. That same short dark blue hair, and those piercing yellow eyes stared at my class. This girl, she looked almost identical to the girl in my dream last night, the one who tried to murder me.

The girl in question smiled brightly as she spoke.

"My name is Erica Doncane! It's super nice to meet all of you!" She spoke quickly.

For a brief second, I could have sworn I saw her look at me, and smirk.
