All of us were fighting the creatures with our best efforts, unsuccessfully of course. We backed further down the passage exit, hurdled together. I send flying kicks, Jamil and Goltas each holding their swords as far from themselves as possible. (y/n) stays behind us, keeping an eye on our backs and out for the Magi and his friend.
"Agh! There's no end to them!" Our lord yells out in frustration. "Haven't we reached those brats yet, Morgin?!" I take a whiff of the air. It's only faintly stronger, who knows how far away they could be. I glance at (y/n), but I already know she won't have seen them.
"Not yet," I shout above the clashing. Jamil knocks me over, kicking me in the gut and side of my abdomen over and over. I clutch my hands over my head. This is a waste of time. We just need to keep moving, to keep fighting.
"Not yet?! This is all your fault, you incompetent fool!" My body won't stop trembling in fear under him. "Die! Die! Die! You filth!" He finally stops, slumping his back into the wall as he mutters, "Why? Why are these monsters here? This is the end of the last passage.. the inscription said.." I watch as my Master's eyes widen in shock. A wave of realization washes over him. I only hear a faint mumble now, "He.. tricked me.." Sweat drips down his pale skin, his body begins to tremble just like mine did when he beat me. This was his due for being the horrible, yet powerful, man he was.
My eyes follow his gaze to a monster whose goop forms what looks like his hair style. Two eyes sinking to the surface as others fall back. A sharp tooth mouth moves as it mimics him. "Incompetent.. incompetent fool.. it's your fault.. die.. die.. you incompetent.."
Jamil screams out, holding his sword out and against his chest in defense. I've never seen him so frightened, so on edge and panicked. He steps back, slashing his sword around in the air. He clings onto me out of fear, hoping I'll do something to defend him. But I can't. Instead I watch as it draws closer and his lips slowly and abnormally form into what I presume to be a smile.
Within moments Jamil lets out a choked up laugh. It lasts for a long time, but his body is still trembling and drenched in sweat. Seems it finally broke him.
