" You are too late, Marc Spector. Ammit already taken the souls of these people. There is nothing you can do now."
He laughed with a sinister face, believing he had won in this match. The streets were laid bare in front of his eyes, filled with soulless bodies that he harvested for his goddess. It was too late for them for his objective had been realized unless Arthur and Khonshu somehow managed to defeat Ammit but that was impossible too since she had thousands of souls in her hands, meaning she was immortal.
" Layla, capture him. I will deal with minions. Samone, go help her."
Marc equipped his suit while pulling out his two chakram-like weapons. His white eyes were focused on the men in black hoods, thinking how to defeat them but that wasn't the only surprise element in this battle.
The beasts from the hell, dug out from the ground while drooling. Their scarlet eyes were looking at Marc and his friends like some sort of snack. The hunger of them was oblivious to normal eyes.
" Marc!"
Layla tried to help him but Harrow blocked her way with his cane. He narrowed his eyes with a cold face, taking notice of her attire which had the design of ancient Egypt.
" You become one of the apostles, huh? Then this makes things easy."
The cane lost its sheath, turning into a slender blade that was sharpened into a deadly weapon.
" Damn it. Samone, try to contact Eden with this."
Layla got a communication device from Arthur before heading toward her and she knew this was the time to use it. However, she wasn't sure whether this would work because she could see the giant dome surrounding the city.
" It is useless. Even with the technology of Eden, your communication device won't send a signal to outside."
The barrier was made from the energy of God, so to surmount this power, Arthur had to use divine realm technology and he predicted such a thing would happen.
The red light turned into a green light as a man with a shield came out from it. His iconic green, red, and white colors were the symbol of freedom to his allies and fear to his enemies.
" You did well for holding this long. Now leave this to me.
Although I am not using my old shield, I can still fight for a long time."
Steve smiled at Samone and Layla who widened their eyes with shock because no one thought Steve Rogers would come out from the portal.
" Arthur Harrow, right? I heard that you were a hero in the past but it appears that the information was wrong."
Steve turned his head around, seeing countless bodies in the street with a frown on his face.
" So what you are Steve Rogers. You are a relic of the past. You are no longer the man who defeated Thanos."
Steve smiled at his words without any anger on his face, agreeing with his words. He now had a family and people to protect unlike in the past, so he might become a selfish person. However, one thing was sure he was still a man who would cover his comrades with his life.
" Now then. Let's check that out, shall we?"
In a blink of a second, Steve appeared next to Harrow with his shield, sending him toward the building with a powerful bash. Then he threw his shield from his hand, blocking the monster from the side while grabbing it from the air.
" Not bad."
He muttered calmly, feeling nostalgic about his past since it had been a long time since his last fight. His strength was still there and improved a little bit, but his flexibility got a little bit rusty.
" I will kill you."
Harrow rose from the rumbles, trying to slash him with his sword but his sword was blocked by Steve's shield in the end. Among the heroes in Eden, Steve could toe-to-toe against the top heroes despite his human body because he had the most powerful defense and parry system.
His block and parry attacks were a menace to most people because there was no simple way to overcome his defense.
