A few seconds ago
Arthur felt the powerful explosion that almost caused a black out in the entire city. He raised his head and saw the incoming missile. He also felt a few individuals that were protecting the missile as the man was tied to it.
He didn't hesitate for a second as he flew to the missile with light speed. He saw the timer was off and it was starting to explode, so he grabbed the man and threw him down while trying to absorb the energy. To protect the city and its people, he surrounded himself with a barrier and took a head on it.
He knew the barrier wasn't enough for this and he was right. The neutrino bomb didn't cause a flame explosion instead it destroyed everything at sub atomic level and that power was enough to destroy an entire planetary system with its star.
" Agh*"
He felt his body was being ripped apart, but he didn't let it go because if he escaped from there everyone would die and no one except him could do this.
He saw the faces of his loved ones, his mother, sister, grandparents, father, wives, and children. He also saw his friends and comrades that stood with him.
" Ah, I promised I would watch their contest. I am such a failure as a father."
He mumbled as he lost his consciousness to the darkness. He knew he was going to face death and he would probably die from here. Was he willing to do that? Unfortunately, he didn't have a choice.
Suddenly, he found himself in a dark space with dim lighting. He saw a grey-skinned woman who was calming sitting in front of him as she gave a cup of tea to him.
" Arthur Frost? You are fame preceded entire universe itself. A singularity that changed the course of entire universes, transcending 3rd dimension and reaching beyond. Tell me, how does it feel to die?"
She asked lightly, sipping the tea with a faint smile. Arthur silently gazed at her while drinking the tea and surprisingly it had the same flavor as his favorite tea.
" I guess you are the embodiment of Death since only Death can meet me. But why didn't Hela come here?"
Arthur tilted his head with confusion, knowing she ruled the domain of death. However, the woman before him was beyond the gods since she was one of the creators and forces of this universe.
" You can say I am beyond her. I am the death itself and I have seen you how you live. You are a wonder, my boy. You defied fate itself and changed everyone around you. Even gods revolved around you. But do you think that is fair? You thwarted so many things and someone whom I should meet. Hence, I am in a love-hate relationship with you."
She explained with a serious face, putting her tea on the table. With a single wave of her hand, he saw everyone's fare. How Natasha and Tony died and how everyone suffered as some strayed from their paths.
" What do you want from me, then?"
He sighed with a defeated face, shrugging his shoulders. Death herself wasn't a benevolent figure in his eyes and he understood where she was coming from and what she wanted to do, but he wanted to confirm it first.
" Nothing. I want you to continue to live and change the fate of this universe, but you have to promise me one thing."
Miss Death smiled with a gentle face, but he felt she was hiding something from him. She was scheming something from his back and he had no choice but to accept her proposal since he had yet to fill his duties.
" May I ask what is it?"
He asked with a polite tone.
" You must stop the parasites that are trying to invade our universe. I want them to die because they break the balance of the universe as they defy the cosmos."
She showed him the images of people who were doing something. They had systems like him before and they were doing something that upset the fate.
" They will surely come to our universe. By then, either imprison them for a life or just send them to me."
She said with a cold face.
