Clint clenched his fists, knowing he had no choice but to accept her sacrifice. Although he wanted to sacrifice himself for them, the burden of being the father of three and a husband of a wife hardened his heart. It is either her or his family and both of them were equally important to him.
" Nat, I..."
Clint tried to go to the edge, but he felt a sting on his neck. Turning his head, he saw the syringe in Natasha's hand.
" You are too important for them. I can't allow you to die in this nameless place. Please tell them that I love them and this was the last thing I could do for them."
Natasha smiled sadly, diving into the deep cliff of darkness. She could feel the wind brushing through her face as the death gazed at her. The cold feeling of death embraced her body, trying to claim her mortal soul from her body.
Thud*
Finally, she reached the place where she belonged in the first place. A land of death where the dead were imprisoned eternally.
" Hello."
Natasha heard a voice of a gentleman as she turned her head around. She saw a tall man, standing before him with a gentle smile on his handsome face. He was oddly similar to her beloved, thus she tilted her head with confusion.
" You must be confused. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Edward Frost. You can call me father-in-law."
Edward laughed, revealing his white teeth that were almost sparkling. He was a humorous and light person similar to Arthur and he was much more open-minded.
" Huh? Oh, I am sorry. I am Natasha. This is just too sudden."
Natasha said with a blank expression, not knowing what to say in this type of situation. She never thought she would meet the very person who kept the world safe in his time. A knight who had the most potential in Round Table. He was a walking legend whom Arthur aspired to be after knowing his history.
Edward scratched his head with embarrassment because he thought she was exaggerating a little bit.
" Ahem, it is nice to hear praise from such a fair lady."
He coughed, faking his expression. He wasn't confident around women, thus he deliberately hid his emotions.
" Ah, I remember. Mother said you were a shy type of person who couldn't take it to the next step."
Natasha chuckled, recalling the old memories of Camilla who loved talking about her husband.
" How are they? My children and my wife? I have never seen my daughter and I couldn't teach my son. I am a failure of a father."
Edward asked, smiling with a gentle face. He missed his family so much in his death that he was willing to sell his soul just to their faces.
" You have grandchildren and a few daughters-in-law. Although I don't know about you, Arthur is a womanizer. I bet he has countless mistresses around me. So, yeah your son is a cool douchebag, no I mean my husband."
Natasha gritted her teeth when she thought about Arthur's private life. He had a harem made of devils and he even made out with gods and angels. Also, there are some dragons, elves, and so on. The list went way down like Santa's list.
Edward fell into silence, not knowing what to say. He couldn't meet his son and he couldn't educate him properly, much less show his active support.
" I am so sorry about him. I know he is a weakling like me and I want to bash him out, but unfortunately, we don't have much time, so hear me out. When you go out from this space, remind Arthur to expand his portals because countless threats are coming after him. Especially, time travelers, dimensional beings, etc. You have to be patient with my son and support him when he needs you the most. Camilla and mother can't live forever next to him, even Lorenzo will die someday."
Edward warned her, telling her the possibilities for the future. He understood Arthur's loneliness because he was watching from the other side and he knew Arthur's existence was variance. Therefore, he was destined to carry the burden on his shoulders.
