Chapter 68 - Educators

Inside the Ascended World, Avery and Yue were conducting their usual routine.

They taught the villagers magic during their morning lessons and oversaw different parts of operations in the village making sure that all were in order.

After checking if things were doing alright, the elven siblings decided to check upon the Elemental Elks. And from what they have observed, it seems that the Elks were happy with their new home and were slowly adapting.

After seeing that they were all good, Avery and Yue decided to formalize and discuss in detail their partnership with the Elemental Elks.

Last time, the Elemental Elk Princess only said that they were willing to serve the elves in exchange for helping them exact revenge, but no specific details were discussed and what the Elk princess meant by 'serve'.

So they had a serious discussion with the Elk princess, and it seems that the word 'serve' she mentioned was a lot broader than the siblings expected. She was willing to do anything for them, whether that would be helping them fight a war or being used as carriers for transportation. Anything within reason was allowed as long as the Aevum Elves dedicate some of their time to helping them with their revenge.

Avery and Yue seem to have underestimated the desire for revenge that these elks had in them. The relationship between the Elemental Elks and Nightmare Wolves was much more severe than they had thought.

The deal sounded very one-sided with the Aeveum Elves benefiting much more. They basically have these Elks who were willing to do anything for them as long as they help them get their revenge. Even if they accomplished helping the elks in their revenge, the elks would still continue to serve them.

Due to this, Yue quickly raised a question regarding the deal. She did not want to make it look like they were exploiting them by agreeing to a deal that basically means enslaving these elks.

However, the Elk Princess said that it was fine since she trusted the siblings that they were not going to treat the Elks badly like a slave. She was sure that they were going to be treated with dignity and care.

Hearing the trust that the Elk princess gave them, Avery and Yue decided to add a clause in their deal that they would make sure that the elks were properly treated and cared for.

After their discussion with the Elk Princess, Avery and Yue went to the training grounds where Lia and Estel were training the Elves.

The two did not bother them and simply waited at the side to observe their progress. And from what they have seen, it seems that the expedition has greatly benefitted the Elven soldiers as their movement and organizations seem to be doing much better compared to their time as trainees.

As they were training, Lia noticed the two siblings and quickly ordered the soldiers to take a rest. She along with Estel who also noticed them quickly approached the two before greeting them.

Avery then discussed their deal with the Elk Princess and gave Lia some instructions for the preparation of a cavalry unit.

At the same time, Avery predicted that the goblins are starting to get suspicious of the scouting parties that they eliminated. The goblins are probably going to send more scouting parties to check upon the situation.

With this in mind, he tasked Estel to form a small unit of elven soldiers and search the location of the castle that was mentioned in the journal they acquired from the goblin scouting party that they eliminated back then.

He told her to quietly eliminate any small goblin scouting party that would come out of the castle. In doing so, Avery hoped that they are able to delay the goblins from discovering their village before they are ready to confront them.

Avery wanted to at least increase their military strength before engaging with the goblins in the castle.

After handling the military affairs, Avery and Yue went to find Elrand to discuss the 82 Summoning tokens that they acquired from their recent expeditions. After seeing Elrand in the village hall, they were surprised to see two other people accompanying him.

Elrand quickly introduced them saying that two were part of the newly summoned villagers from the daily summoning. He said that the two had the potential to be an educator.

Avery and Yue inspected their stats and were happy that they finally have someone to conduct the morning lessons in their stead. After some introductions, Avery then sent the two to Lindir to get some private lessons. Lindir the researcher should be free as he currently is not in the middle of research and was currently occupied with the task of creating more Enhanced Wheat Seeds. Lindir should be able to give some of his time educating the two.

After that matter with the two was resolved, they then discussed the 82 Summoning tokens in their possession. Elrand said that they can summon them anytime as they have resources to accommodate them.

Taking his suggestion into consideration, Avery and Yue decided to use the 82 Summoning tokens immediately.

They left it to Elrand to help them in their accommodations and gave him a list of what jobs needed more focus. The list basically states to assign a bulk of the newly summoned villager to farm while the rest were to be assigned to construction and resource gathering. Though if there were some with talents and traits to be a soldier then the list said to assign them to the military.

After all the matters with the village, Avery and Yue decided to spend some time together practicing their magic. They did that for the rest of the day before it was finally time for them to return back to Earth.
