Chapter 7 - Unlucky...

By the time I was back to the surroundings of the hunters' campsite, the moon was high in the sky, I took a deep breath and as I wanted to do before entering I tried the new skill I earned after the evolution.

The name was pretty simple and easy to understand, but I had to know what I had in my hands if I could use it and how could I use it, I tried to utilize it as I would with the [Analyze] skill, and even if I didn't have a lot of hope, it worked, a strange and rather small strand of light appeared right under the length of my tail.

The more it was staying there and the more I felt my stamina depleting, in the end when I tried to move my tail to the left, the strand flew right in that direction, like some sort of energic slash, it hit a small-sized tree, but other than a small cut on its bark the tree was still intact.

I was blown away, it was something I didn't expect at all, in my previous world, the earth all these things were myths, films, and novels... but in reality, we had just science and nothing more, maybe there was something mystical once, but in the age in which I was born, It was probably long lost, all replaced with iron and cement.

I sighed, all that mattered now was to save my brothers, I started to approach stealthily the camp, I knew it was reckless by my side to enter without even knowing where my brothers were kept, but it was all I could do for now.

The tents that I saw from afar were actually very big, almost 20 people could fit in each one, there were 5 of them, and everyone had a banner in a different color from the others, Red, Yellow, Purple, Green, and Light Blue, the banners were hanging near the entrance of each tent, I was not interested particularly so I went on.

Using my nose I could smell some animals in the wooden tower in the center, I took a breath, it was actually very calm, I didn't like it at all, even the smallest of the noise would have been able to be heard.

Calmly I started to go across the ground that divided me from the tower, the closer I was to the tower the more I could hear numerous creatures making different sounds.

The door, well there was no door, the entrance was guarded by a guy in a black robe that had yellow stripes and decorations, he was kind of handsome in the light of the moon, long brown hair and two light brown eyes that were almost the same color of the honey, but it wasn't the time form me to distract with handsome guys, I'm a fox after all.

I felt that everything was... useless, now that I entered the perimeter of the camp, I could actually see that there were more cultivators, all with robes that had the color of the banners on the tents, at that point, I overheard a conversation between two persons

The guy with a white and light blu robe said "There were so many of those hunters, but their cultivation was so trashy that we managed to capture them" after no more than a bunch of seconds a girl with a brown and green robe answered him "Yea, I heard that some of them even managed to get killed by a pair of two-tailed foxes, how trashy can they be to be killed by a mid-low soul beast" and after what she said the both of them started to chuckle.

'Wait, ain't this the hunter's camp?' i thought while panic started to arise within me, am I really that dumb? I started to ask myself, but I was fully sure that the smell I followed was the same as the hunters, then once again something kicked right in my stomach.

"Aww, remember how cute the fox cubs were? I'm so unsure if freeing them was the right thing, I wanted to keep one..." said the girl in brown and green after she stopped herself from the chuckle.

I was so dumbstruck that I even forget where I was, almost immediately, a hand rose me from the ground, the person who was keeping me from the ground was the guard of the wooden tower, what to do...? If the skill I had barely made a cut on a tree what would happen to a cultivator? Absolutely nothing...

[Nature is watching the host]

A powerful wind arose it distracted the cultivator, I took the chance and fleed, but as soon as the wind stopped and the strange message disappeared from my sight, now blocking me was a man, a handsome, royal-looking man, his muscular physique could be seen through his clothes, he was tall and had jet-black long hair tight with a long red ribbon, his face was... perfect, he was standing in front of me, with a gloomy and mysterious aura around him.

His dark-red eyes were staring right through me with a piercing gaze that I would never forget in my life, I could feel hate, sorrow, pain, and yet, something was not quite right, a misplaced loneliness was put inside those very stingy and aggressive emotions.

The Yellow and Black-robed guy was running in my direction, a gable, I took my odds and jumped right between the hands of the handsome guy in front of me, he took my body and didn't react, in fact, he was kind of speechless at moment.

I started to let out a very low purr like sound and started to was softly my tail, it was somewhat humiliating, but I had to make them lower their guard in order to be able to escape, but to my surprise, the man that had me between his arms started to pat the fur on my back, acting like I was his pet.

"Oh...I'm sorry Chen Yun, I didn't know that this soul beast was your pet" Although being called a pet was not the best thing ever, I managed to get away from the yellow-robed guy and be petted by a stunning guy, I was hoping that he would also release me, now that I knew my brothers were safe in the forest there was no point in remaining there.

As soon as the guy went away and I was alone with the guy... Chen Yu I think he called him, I jumped from his arms to the ground and started to walk towards the forest.

"And where you think you are going...?" I stopped and turned seeing that Chen Yu was talking to me, I gave him a look that said 'Are you talking to me? A fox?' and then turned again.

"Hmm... so you don't talk... but I'm sure you can understand me..." he kept on saying while I kept on going forward, "Look at me when I'm talking to you" an enormous invisible force turned my snout toward him.

Right there, I understood that I took a step that was by far longer than my leg...er... paw...
