Feeling the intense killing intent from Lemiel's eyes, Arsen lowered his sword from before Selena's face. Hiding his panic, Arsen tried to glance at the sword that was currently pointing right behind him.
"... you are truly dangerous, Lemiel."
"I would love it if you stopped calling me dangerous."
"Then, what does this mean?" Arsen glanced back at his eyes, staring at Lemiel's sword which was aimed at him.
"Of course as a good royal citizen, I have to remind the royal apparatus not to do stupid things."
Arsen held back his frustration at the annoying excuse. But still, she was surprised at being oblivious to Lemiel's movements.
Meanwhile, Selena, sat against the wall, frowned, trying to digest what was now happening in front of her. Either because we're too focused on Arsen's attack, Selena was equally unaware of Lemiel who was already behind the brown-haired man.
"Did he use some kind of speed magic?!" Selena thought glaringly at him.
The corners of Arsen's lips curved sarcastically and said, "I thought you attacked me because I annoyed your friend."
"Huh? We both are just prisoners in this place. Besides, she also looks like hate me," he argued casually.
"..." Selena didn't say anything to that statement.
Arsen was silent then—the sword swing immediately turned towards Lemiel. Despite being slightly taken aback, Lemiel parried the attack with ease.
"Oi, what is this?!"
"I won't let you leave free!" growled Arsen, then drew his sword back.
"I don't understand why you are swinging your sword at me, but if the Dracheal Citizen found out about this, Shirogami's reputation would definitely be questioned."
"Shut up!" Arsen continued to swing his silver sword many times. Even though the expression on his face showed difficulty, he did not relax his attacks in the slightest.
Seeing Arsen's predicament, Lemiel tilted his smile with purpose. Using only his beloved sword, Lemiel parried each of them with ease.
For Lemiel, the attack didn't cause much trouble. He took all of his attacks casually. This ability proves himself to be far superior to Arsen.
"Why are you suddenly angry like that? I should be angry here. Remember, you only give me food once a day, even then it's just a piece of sandwich."
Even though the situation was not right, Lemiel used the moment to convey his protest during his imprisonment as well as provoke Arsen's anger.
"Fight me seriously!"
"How could I do that? if you get hurt are you going to guarantee I won't be jailed?"
"Don't underestimate me, you bastard!" Arsen was increasingly overcome by anger, swinging his sword brutally.
"I didn't mean it like that," he replied, holding back Arsen's slash, which this time caused him enough trouble.
Then, Lemiel gave multiple counteroffensive slashes, sending the silver Arsenic sword flying into the air—quickly, Lemiel immediately aimed his sword right in the middle of his eyes.
His eyes were wide, Arsen was silent hiding his face, seeing the sharpness of the blade that could have pierced his forehead.
"Just stop."
Hearing him speak in a flat tone, Arsen held back the annoyance as he turned his face.
Lemiel flashed a smile, feeling satisfied after cornering Arsen. Then he drew his sword from in front of Arsen and thrust it into the husk.
Meanwhile, the two Arsen subordinates could only remain silent with dumbfounded expressions, watching their battle from outside the cell. They refused to believe seeing their Division Captain cornered like that.
"H-he's a monster ...."
This fellow didn't rely on his speed. He's just used to fighting on the battlefield, Selena thought, having watched the two of them fight. '
There are so many questions in Selena's head right now. But she can put that aside. Then, Selena, who seemed indifferent to the two men in front of her, moved her hand to take out her black sword that was stuck in the ground.
Standing up without saying anything, Arsen could only hold back the feeling of annoyance while cleaning his uniform which was soiled from falling. He just walked out of the prison cell, stood with his two subordinates.
"Today you can breathe freely, Red eyes." After giving that short remark, Arsen immediately left them towards the exit of the dungeon, of course, followed by his two men from behind.
"It's up to you. Oh yeah, don't forget to convey my greetings to that person."
Lemiel waved his hand casually. But Arsen and his two subordinates ignored his attitude, leaving them.
"Very stupid." While standing, Selena then looked at him
"Why you call me stupid?"
"I don't need your help."
"You dislocated your hand, right? It's only natural that you let your sword slip out of your grasp."
Selena was quite surprised that this black-haired man noticed the state of his hands.
Since the beginning, Lemiel had known Selena's hand sprained due to the handcuffs that held her and that was also one of the reasons for stopping Arsen's fool.
"Sigh ... after all, that person deliberately did that so that I attacked him. So you don't have to worry about the proposal," he continued.
"That's not what I thought."
"Heheh, it turns out talking to you up close is quite fun too."
Selena didn't respond to his words and just walked away from her cell.
"Oi, don't keep quiet about me. At least we can walk together from here," he complained.
***
Center Area, Capital of Dhuris.
Lemiel and Selena finish reporting their release to some of the Shirogami soldiers, although Lemiel argued with them. But it does not last long. Now the two of them looked at the atmosphere of the Dhuris capital.
It seemed that a lot of residents were passing by in the middle of the city. The Dracheal Kingdom itself is in the territory of the Human Race, but that doesn't mean non-human races are prohibited from setting foot on human territory and that also applies to the Dracheal kingdom.
But the reality is, that there are rarely any immigrants from other races to the Dracheal kingdom when compared to other kingdoms in the Human territory. Perhaps it was the crime rate that was quite high in the Dracheal Empire.
The view in front of Lemiel and Selena currently contains many shops, such as restaurants, weapon shops, drinking places and many more.
The rising sunlight made Lemiel narrow his eyes, "I don't know how long I haven't seen the sun ..."
Naturally, Lemiel said that he has been in the dungeon for almost a month, plus the darkness that always envelops the prison.
Selena stared at him flatly while blinking her eyes several times which made Lemiel wonder.
"Do you also live in this city?"
"Well, to be more precise I have a job in Nacaome town."
"Job?" Selena gave him a doubtful look.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Of course, I'm not sure an assassin like you can work in this kingdom."
"Don't talk to me like that, I have services at my place." Lemiel is a little offended by Selena's words which sounded dismissive of him.
"I see, so you're offering your night services for women. I knew you were a rotten man."
Selena's confident manner of speaking was starting to annoy her.
"Can you stop thinking of me like trash?!"
"Sorry I can't."
Lemiel sighed, holding back his patience to face the woman.
"... whatever you thinking about me now, the answer is not like that. but I certainly won't tell you."
"Don't worry, I didn't ask either."
"You... you should be able to make your face a little friendlier. Your gaze is too flat like a dead person. Trust me, you would be prettier if you could be brighter."
"I don't want to hear it from murderer gaze like you."
"It has nothing to do with me right?!"
"Then, see you." Without further ado, Selena walked away
"Hey, if you have time drop by the Tendo Bar in the Nacaome town, maybe we can have a drink there, well if you don't mind."
"Maybe I'll think ...," replied Selena who had walked away.
Lemiel looked at Selena's distant back with a flat expression, then narrowed sharply with a faint smile. "Mystin huh ...."
He recalled Arsen's revelation of Selena's true identity.
The Drakea Kingdom does have many combat troops besides the magic army of Shirogami, namely the 5 strongest and most respected families in the Drakea kingdom. One of the 5 families is the Mystin family, and Lemiel is no stranger to that name.
But he did not expect, one of the famous Mystin family could languish in prison. That was a question that made him curious.
"A complicated woman…" Lemiel scratched his head that was not itchy, erasing the stupid question he had been thinking.
"I can't wait to spend my time drinking a few glasses of wine ..." Putting his hands in the pockets of his black pants, Lemiel walked home, hiding the look on his face.
But just a few minutes walking came the voice of an old woman screaming not far from him.
"Help anyone! That person took my bag!"
The woman continued to scream, but the people who were in that place didn't seem to care and were busy with their respective activities.
The thief wearing the face mask continued running along the same path Lemiel had passed from the opposite direction.
"Hahaha! It turns out this city is so easy!" The man ran into Lemiel who was walking hiding the look on his face.
"If this continues ma—" The head of the thief suddenly lay, slowly pouring out blood. Then the man's body followed collapsed onto the paved road, convulsing before he actually died.
Instantly the people who saw the scene screamed hysterically. Some people also immediately ran away seeing that person's head was cut off.
"Why did he suddenly die?!"
"Who did it?!"
Some people continue to ask that question in a state of panic and confusion.
Meanwhile, the old woman whose purse was stolen watched the thief's death from a distance. Her eyes were blank, her half-wrinkled lips also trembled. Then his eyes widened as Lemiel walked past him with a drooping face.
The woman was spontaneously shocked, looking at Lemiel who was slowly moving away.
"Could it be that person ...."
Lemiel continued walking leaving the people in a daze, hiding the look on his face with a slight yet sharp smile.
