From Hliðskjálf, whole Ásgarðr was visible, and so was each domain. Miðgarðr was farther near of the horizon, right next to the Bifröst. But on this balcony, or rather this immensely wide rooftop, was standing a table which was about the same area of the ceiling! The remaining space only served as a pathway to move around the table. And above the table was placed a tremendous upholstery, which entirely covered up the table, and whose certain parts were even exceeding it. The upholstery was depicting whole Yggdrasill like a map, but it was a living map! Thus, birds were moving, men took, every single one being was on it!
And near the table was seating Óðinn. The latter was a quite old man, whose force clearly did not left him, with grey hair and a beard of the same colour. One of his eye was shut, and seemed to not be able to open. He was playing with circular pieces of hazel, as gazing at the colossal upholstery. He was drowned in his thoughts, with a gleam of the melancholy that mentioned Freyja in the eye that was remaining. Freyja entered first, and Óðinn as interrupted in his meditation, he then said:
- Freyja— I believed that you were already gone. Why is this other unexpected visit?
- And it's more unexpected than what you expected. I've brought you a visitor!
- Forgive me, but I possess no time to spare for a visitor— I'm currently seeking for someone.
Önd then entered and replied instead of Freyja:
- My problem will only take a minute of your precious time, Óðinn.
- A human?— And by which means did you came to my throne?
- You forgot to feed your pets. The continuation is quite simple... explained Önd.
- We all succumb of our desires in time of necessity, at whatever cost— and it seems that my pets are not exception. But I have important things to do, leave—! exclaimed Óðinn.
- You should dedicate him a part of your time Óðinn. All the way he did is indeed tiresome— trust me! added Freyja as sitting, for she felt that an entertaining scene was about to happen.
- Very well, your question ought to be answered, human. Ask it, and I shall respond to you with my wisdom!
Önd took few instant in order to formulate his question, and then asked it:
- How could I return on Miðgarðr— and of course return there alive?
Once his question asked, Freyja and Óðinn stared at each other and began to chuckle! Önd, confused, asked:
- What's so amusing?
- Önd, if it truly was your question, be aware that nor a god could not entirely answer it! replied Freyja, still laughing.
- Do you ignore that death cannot be fooled? added Óðinn, as a smile was replacing his laughter.
- But you ought to answer him Óðinn— his question ought to be answered! added Freyja, midway between irony and amusement.
- Go to claim your soul to Hel! exclaimed Óðinn, as restarting to chuckle with Freyja.
- And where may I find "Hel"? asked Önd, now annoyed by their antics.
- Haha—! You really are serious—! Very well—! Lead him to Helheimr with the aid of the Valshamr, accompany him and bring him back to Ásgarðr when he'll be done— or more precisely when he'll fail, haha—! ordered Óðinn to Freyja, as the latter suddenly stopped laughing.
- Óðinn! We're all aware that he'll miserably fail! replied Freyja with a serious tone, as getting up.
- Let him do as his will! He made all the way to here, right? My Einherjar must sometime entertain themselves in their own manners! And you owe me this!
- If it is your wish! added Freyja now with an annoyed tone.
- It's settled then, I ought to leave. Don't forget Freyja, bring him back once his case finished.
On his words, Óðinn got up of his chair, headed to the stairway to the Valhöll, and began to go down. At last, the end of my quest's near! keenly thought Önd. And with haste he asked to Freyja:
- Now, how do we travel to Helheimr?
Freyja, whom yet was annoyed, answered:
- I'll take you there by using one of the feather of the Valshamr.
- The Valshamr?
- You really haven't heard a lot of skáld, have you? she replied. Behold!
She put and hand in her purse which was attached to her waistband, and took out a silver feather. She rubbed the feather for an instant, and threw it in the air. Rapidly, she spelled some words, and transformed herself into a gigantic falcon with silver and spotted feathers. She moved her wings and her head for some seconds, as if stretching, and talk to Önd in her new shape:
- Hasten yourself and mount on my back! The effects of a feather of the Valshamr don't last a long time, we ought to hurry.
- I don't want to mount on your back, that's odd! And why couldn't you just give one of these feather? You could stay here, doing whom knows what, added Önd.
- First of all, only women are able to use the Valshamr. Secondly, I only have two feather left, in our case one for going to Helheimr and the other for returning here. And finally, stop behaving as a child!
- Believe me that I shan't mount on your back!
- We have no time to lose! Currently, it's the only mean to travel to Helheimr. Just mount, if you desire soo much to return alive on Miðgarðr.
Önd was not going to let this opportunity to escape his hands, and still with denial, he then mounted the gigantic falcon. Freyja flapped her wings, and they were now in Ásgarðr's skies! Wind was dancing on their faces, the sun seemed to never had shune that much and the skies were perfectly blue, without even a single cloud. Önd was mesmerized by this landscape that seemed to be unrealistic, a landscape that no man could ever imagine! Abruptly, Freyja accelerated her pace, at which point that Önd had to tightly hold on her plumage, something that she surely disliked.
And as a spear piercing a man, Freyja pierced through the skies! They simply vanished of the skies of Ásgarðr!
