At the end of the discussion about the main land continent Fen Chang thought about the key points.
'So, the main continent is called Vermillion Birds Ascension. Weird name but brother heard from his master that there is a legend that before it became a prosperous land it was nothing but wasteland but after a vermillion bird ascended on that land the residue it left behind allowed the land to be rebirthed making it prosperous and full of resources and life. If that's true then according to normal novels progression there should be an inheritance of some sort there to do with either the vermillion bird or maybe a different beast that fought against the bird. I should be careful if I do find it as there is no guarantee the vermillion bird was the good guy.
Then there is also that the main land is almost in a state of chaos with apparent evil sects becoming more active, the larger sects causing more and more tension between them, and even empires on the brink of war against each other.
This sounds like the classic evil plot to me, possible backed by either a devil clan or worshipers or a large evil sect with direct help from upper realm to try and monopolise the talents and resources here. I don't know if there are demons and devils that have appeared in the past from other realms but I should ask, as if there was then it's likely a plot similar to the ones in most novels. If it is then it's a pretty easy fix. Just secure the portal, set up back up traps, and convince the sects that they need to secure and protect the portal.
That doesn't account for unknown portals and factors but when I get more information, I can make better guesses and plans. Alternatively, I could just not care about the main land and just chill in my inner world after ransacking the place.
They did also mention the top sects of the continent but there's no point thinking about those now as I don't plan to go, they're for at least another couple of years.
Now I think the conversation should be over for the most part as father is now silent as he is thinking now talking to my brothers about other stuff. I should take this opportunity to get some resources from brothers, mostly herbs I can grow though and also ask mother and father about their opinions on what happened earlier between Caihong and Chun.'
Waiting for the conversation to finish between his father and brother, he then asks his 2 elder brothers for some resources. "Brother Zang, brother Feng since your both big shots on the main land then surely you have some spare cultivation resources to give to your beloved younger brother, right?"
Bother the brother's eyes twitch over his casual way of asking for stuff. They both sighed and brought out another storage ring each filled with items. Taking both rings, he checks the content and sees a verity of stuff. Pills, weapons, techniques and herbs.
He transfers all the herbs and a few pills to his own ring while giving the rest to his father. "Father you can take the pills I don't need along with the techniques and weapons. I only need the herbs, metals and a few pills. Also, brothers do you have any other herbs or resources? Those are the main things I am looking for. Preferably high grade than these as most of these are between grade 2 – 4 which is good but grade 5 and above herbs and plants is better."
They where both confused as to why he needed high level herbs since he has his own master. Zang was the one to speak up between the two. "Little bother don't you have your own master? Cant he give you these items? Also why do you need them, do you know an alchemist to make them into pills?"
"Brother Zang my master is a hands-off type of master and apart from the time I want something like a technique, for the most part he leaves me to get my own resources. As for why I want them well first, my master is an alchemist among other professions and is teaching me all those professions including alchemy and runes.
Second is because as you know my master owns his own private realm where I train. What you don't know and hope you can keep a secret is that the Qi concentration is very high there and master made many herb fields that can grow high grade herbs fast. I just have to find the herbs to grow and master will take care of them for me and grow them quickly. So high grade herbs are very useful to me as I can grow them over and over while using some to make into pills or even to sell for money."
Both his brother's eyes lit up in surprise along with his sisters. His parents already knew about this so they didn't react much, and instead only had thoughts of how lucky their son was to have such a kind and rich master.
They both hesitated to bring out their best herbs as although they were brothers, they also needed them or where things that cost them an extreme amount.
Feng was the first to sigh and bring out a few wooden boxes. "Little brother these are my highest-grade herbs and pill resources. These 2 on the left in the dark wooden case are both grade 5. One is the Mountain Lotus Petal, while the other is the Golden Jade Pear. The box on the right is my only grade 6 herb and my most precious item. It is a Scorching Dew Drop flower and allows anyone who consumes it the chance of gaining the fire element to their Qi naturally.
I did plan to use it myself but unlike me you are a lot more talented in the way of cultivation so it would be wasted on me. So, I might as well give it to you in the hopes you can either have your master make it into the grade 7 pill or so you can try to plant it."
He affectionately stared at the box to his right, before moving them both towards Chang. He thanked his elder brother Feng before storing them both in his ring. He then looks towards his eldest brother Zang with hopeful eyes.
His heart gave way under the pressure from both the look in his eyes and that if he didn't give his best items, he would lose face as the eldest brother. He brings out another storage ring filled with rank 4 and 5 herbs along with a few ranks 6. He then brought out a weird looking flower.
"Little brother Chang this is a grade 7 herb I found during the exploration of an old powerful cultivators' inheritance. Unfortunately, the herb is not useful for me but it's still very powerful. It is called Hell Inferno Bark and is the bark of a hell inferno tree. I am unsure if it's enough to regrow the tree but it is of no use to me. The effects of the bark are very extreme and is useful for body cultivators and fire element cultivators.
Once consumed by absorbing the essence within it tempers the body with hell fire, which is one of the most potent fires and is filled with dark Qi. For body cultivators it is unbearable pain with body the fire scorching your body but also the dark Qi corroding the soul. For fire cultivators there is the chance of gaining parts of the hell fire but the torture normally kills cultivators before they can get the benefits.
This small amount isn't a lot and is no where near enough to temper the whole body but is still able to temper a small part of it. Since I am not a body cultivator and don't have the fire element, this isn't useful for me. I was originally thinking of giving it to second brother but since you are both a body cultivator and have the chance to make it into a pill though your master, it would probably be more useful for you."
Everyone was shocked at him taking out such a precious item. Most people would feel awkward taking such an item away from a family member but Chang doesn't have those reservations and happily took it and stored it in his ring, eager to plant it and see if it can grow into the tree.
Unlike his brother who only knows its basic use, through checking it over with the database he now knows the hell infernal tree is a divine item that should only grow in high level realms and has amazing effects for cultivators.
He doesn't bother asking his sister as before he even could she already gave him a ring with all of her resources. Not wanting to take advantage of his brothers too much he used the database to find a technique that matched them before giving it to them through special means.
"Brothers, because I don't want to take advantage of you and you both gave me really good treasures, I will give you each one of masters techniques. I am unable to write them down so instead I have to use another method to give you the techniques.
What I am about to put on you is a seal, but it's a hollow shell. The seal does nothing but protect the contents within. One you get the seal you can then bring it into your soul and break the shell, there for gaining the information sealed within.
Now can you both give me your hands."
They both held out their hands waiting to receive the gift their brother is giving them. They don't believe the technique will be better than theirs but since it's a gift from the younger brother, they happily accepted it anyways.
They feel something enter them and quickly find it to be the seal he was on about. They then retracted their hands and closed their eyes to guide the seal near their soul before breaking it apart and catching the information within.
When they got information the techniques their body's shook as their eyes opened with cold sweat. They both had the same thought 'Who would have thought his master was so terrifying'.
They where both given mid immortal techniques which even the largest powers wouldn't have access to. They quickly started to spit out questions and concerns about handing over such a technique.
All these words however hit against a wall called Chang who just said "Master said those are only low-level random techniques. No need to be reserved about it, to master they are nothing. Why are you so interested, do you want some more?"
There mouths where permanently open hearing their younger brother talk about immortal techniques like candy. His parents then stepped in backing him up, eventually convincing them both to start cultivating the technique.
His eldest brother Zang got the technique Blossoming World Tree because he has a high affinity for the wood and life element which is a very rare combination, along with a minor body tempering technique which allows his body to get more vitality increasing the power of his wood element attacks and his body's defence.
His second brother got a body technique called Gluttonous Kong and is a special one that processes the food he eats into a special Qi that helps refine his body. It was accompanied by a cultivation technique which allowed him to use the same Qi to increase his cultivation at the same time.
His sister then started complaining but had plans to give hers tonight when they are alone. Which quickly shut her up as her mind started thinking of many dirty things.
The last thing the family spoke about what how his parents and brothers view inter-family relationships, well more specifically about his relationship with his sisters.
None of them showed any problems with it as many nobles and royals keep relationships within house to prevent outsiders from getting in so they gave their blessings after expressing that he should take it slow with Caihong since she is although marriable and of age in this world, she is still young.
Both sisters where very happy but they still shared death glares with each other over who gets him first, although Caihong was a little less aggressive in this as she knows her sister will be with his first in bed since he put restrictions on that till, she's older.
Everyone then left apart from his father and elder brothers who instead grabbed some wine and started drinking and catching up. Looking less like father and sons but more like good friends reuniting.
