Leaving his inner world along with Bjorne they appear back in the cave they started in. By this time the sun was already starting to set with around 1-2 hours of light left before it becomes dark.
Not caring about it being dark soon he leaves the cave in search of an opponent for Bjorne. He has Bjorne lead the way since he knows the land more than him.
They came across a few high rank 1 beasts which Fen Chang fought as they would be no match for Bjorne after him advancement and evolution.
When they finally came across a low rank 2 beast Bjorne excitedly charged in ready to fight. Unfortunately for him the low rank 2 beasts only lasted a few minutes before it died. Leaving Bjorne a little unsatisfied and annoyed as he wanted to fight something that can give it a challenge.
Smiling at seeing the bear pouting, he collects the corpse before continuing through the mountains in search of a mid-rank 2 beast.
They had found many low rank 2 beasts of which Bjorne took care of most of them as Fen Chang wasn't quite strong enough yet unless he was to go all out, but that would defeat the purpose of him training with handicaps.
All the high rank 1's they found where all dealt with by Fen Chang. So, each of them got their own fights although Bjorne had a worse time since low rank 2 are too weak for him to fully train against. Whereas high rank 1 where perfect for Fen Chang.
After the 7th low rank 2 they finally encountered a middle rank 2 beast. It is a Metal Clawed Marmot. It is the size of a big van making it a decent bit smaller than Bjorne but it makes up for it with speed and slashing attacks.
It has short but sturdy looking claws which shine under the light of the mood. Making them look like metal. Its body was covered in short but thick grey coat of fur, with 2 small ears. Making it look like a giant teddy bear.
The marmot was resting in a cave when they found it. When it sensed them it quickly stood up and screeched, trying to intimidate them.
Seeing the challenge, Bjorne stepped forward and gave his own intimidating roar.
The 2 creatures locked in a battle of intimidation. The marmot not the slightest bit worried about Bjorne being bigger as it kept on trying to win the intimidation battle.
Seeing there was going to be no winner made both party's angry as Bjorne has its pride hurt of not being able to intimidate a smaller creature while the marmot annoyed because the bear is weaker than itself.
Fen Chang seeing a battle about to ensue backed up and set a basic inscription up so they could battle without being noticed by any possible near by creatures looking to take advantage of a weaker party.
Bjorne roars with 2 of his legs in the air before crashing them back down creating a loud bang and rushing forward looking to squash the marmot.
The marmot taking advantage of its agility rushed forward on the walls. Using its claws, to dig into the rock allows it to run along the walls and ceiling.
Unable to react in time to the marmot's speed Bjorne watched as it pounced off the wall digging its claws into his side. Even though his defence is extremely high and prevents the marmot from biting him. Its metal like claws is still able to penetrate the fur and skin as it makes many deep scratch marks.
Unable to reach the marmot in its current position Bjorne slammed his side into the wall trying to crush it. The marmot sensing this quickly disengaged its claws from Bjorne's flesh and scurried away to prevent getting squashed.
After smashing its side into the wall and not having the marmot to soften the blow caused him some pain and a small amount of damage.
He turned around to face the charging marmot. This time knowing the speed of the marmot he was able to accurately defend by using its paw to slap it away. Causing a decent amount of damage due to the bears strong attacks.
The marmot was shocked that the bear managed to react to its speed. This made its pride of being faster feel threatened, making it angrier. The marmot deciding to go all out activated its racial trait as Qi surged out of its body.
Its claws now glowing as they extend, and its legs seeming to grow in muscle. It then once again rushed forward. This time it was many times faster than before and once again Bjorne could only see a streak as it once again got to his side and slashed away creating many deep cuts bleeding all over the place.
Roaring in pain Bjorne tries to attack once again but with the marmots speed it easily avoids the attack before continuing its assault. Getting annoyed and having no idea how to defeat the enemy Bjorne remembers what the marmot did to become so fast.
He then attacked with large attacks to make it back off giving Bjorne time to breath. He then tries to manipulate the earth Qi within his body and infuse it with its legs and claws to copy the marmot.
When he started to manipulate the earth Qi, the Qi suddenly broke free of his control and started surging out on its own. It surged out before condensing around its body. Similar to what happened with the marmot.
It condensed to create a brown coloured layer of Qi looking like armour. The marmot wasn't that shocked, like it had seen it many times. But instead, it had confusion in its eyes when it saw Bjorne freaking out like it found a new toy.
The marmot assumed Bjorne already knew how to manipulate its Qi as its something all rank 2 and above beasts can do. It thought that the bear was either out of Qi or was just arrogant and didn't use its racial ability.
The marmot not wanting to give time for Bjorne to adjust rushed in and clawed away at its flesh again. Unfortunately for it, Bjornes Qi is made of earth Qi which is more powerful than the marmots normal Qi even if the marmot has more.
Its scratch attacks which where previously tearing away chunks of flesh can now only make deep marks in the Qi armour before filling back in due to Bjorne giving it more Qi.
The two continued fighting. Over time Bjornes earth Qi armour started to get thinner and thinner as his Qi started running out. The marmot was in a similar position as its speed slightly lessened and its claws a bit shorter, but due to having more Qi it still held the advantage.
Unfortunately for it Bjorne is smart and hasn't been taking all the hits for nothing. It mostly just stood there during the marmots' assault, adjusting its senses and eyes to its speed. Learning its attack pattern ready for when he makes his move.
The biggest reason he stood there was because it was waiting for the key opportunity. Because it was just standing their and not moving it didn't use much stamina where as the marmot has been bouncing around the place constantly using lots of stamina too keep moving at the speed its going at.
The moment Bjorne was waiting for arrived as the marmot feeling its stamina and mental drain tripped when it was retreating after its attack. Bjorne already waiting for this moment attacked with deadly speed by infusing the rest of his Qi into its paw.
The marmot unable to react in time due to the mental exhaustion of having to constantly bounce around the place was unable to dodge as the paw smashed into its back shattering its spine.
After the attack the marmot laid weakly on the floor unable to move due to its spine being shattered. Going towards the marmot covered with wounds he proudly roars in victory at it before biting down of its head killing it instantly.
Bjorne then slumps down weakly as he has lost a large amount of blood.
Fen Chang a little bit away was watching the fight with interest. He was proud Bjorne was able to take care of the beast but somewhat disappointed that he barely won as he expected Bjorne to be overpowered and killed across ranks.
'Damn looks like beasts killing across ranks isn't very realistic, I guess. Still, I'm happy that he used the advice I gave him in the personal world. I told him that due to his weakness against speed should an opponent be too fast for him to attack. He should focus on defence and hold out till he can get in a single decisive blow. Seems he managed to remember that and even used his earth Qi to create armour. Man, this bear is pretty good, let's hope I can make it strong enough to cross rank kill beasts in the future.'
