Chapter 25 - It Was All Your Fault

On the floor of an underwater cave was an old man motionlessly sitting against a weird looking object in the middle of the room. Near the old man was a younger man rolling around on the floor with blood staining the floor everywhere he rolled.

This was Fen Chang after he had taken the old man's talent. He looked to be in an unbelievable amount of pain that was clearly the side effect of the evil technique.

With his blood vessels constantly bursting and blood non-stop pouring out, Fen Chang starts to worry if he will even survive. He manages to fight back the pain enough for just a few seconds and stuffs his mouth with top rank 3 healing pills.

With the effect of the healing pills his body is constantly repairing itself as its constantly broken.

After 30 minutes of gruelling agony, the pain started to subside. Fen Chang feeling relieved stuffed more pills into his mouth.

Just when he thought it was over and he can let his body and mind heal, a sudden shock happened within his body.

His cultivation suddenly flared up and the compressed Qi within his body started spinning at rapid speeds. It drew in the surrounding Qi at a rapid rate like a whirlpool funnelling towards the centre of his dantan.

His Qi level started rising and he was quickly advancing through the levels. He quickly reached peak level 2, level 3, peak level 3, level 4. And continued going.

Seeing this, Fen Chang gritted his teeth and started to suppress his cultivation. He knew that rapidly rising like this would end bad. Although his level is rising the Qi purity and density is getting lower and lower with each level.

If for example he left it at level 5 then his Qi would struggle to complete against even peak level 4's due to its shabby quality.

He started to condense all the energy within his body, forcefully lowering his level. This caused an immense amount of pain that although not on the same level as before it wasn't far off.

His level started to go down slowly, but the Qi still being gathered caused Fen Chang to struggle. After exactly 10 minutes the Qi whirlpool drawing in the Qi stopped allowing Fen Chang to have an easier time to condense his Qi.

His level lowered from almost reaching 8 to half way through 3. Using the remaining energy that was drawn in allowed him to make it to the peak of level 3.

'Damn that was so fucking painful. I would have actually died if not for the rank 3 pills I had. Even then they where barely enough as I had to stuff down at least 20 of them. Not only that but they are enhanced healing pills almost equivalent to low rank grade 4 pills. Fuck me!...

FUCK! I just missed out on such a good opportunity. Fuck! When the Qi whirlpool was taking in Qi it lasted 10 minutes meaning it was timer based instead of Qi amount based. If I went to my inner world, I could have probably gotten enough Qi to maybe even get mid-level 4 maybe even peak. Fuck that's so annoying, damn pain impeding my thinking.'

Still somewhat agitated over the immense pain Fen Chang calls a maid from his internal world over to being him a cup of tea. The tea wasn't like the standard in this world, it was a special blend of herbs stuffed in a bag and put in boiling water. Milk and sugar are then added along with a side of biscuits to dip in the sweet calming tea.

After having his cup of tea Fen Chang has calmed his mind. The pain he had to deal with was too much for his brain to handle and caused it to still be in shock, causing his thoughts to be erratic until it calmed down.

He returned the tea cup to the maid and sent them off. Looking over towards the sleeping woman Fen Chang thinks on how he wants to go about the next step.

'Although I said I can save the woman, it was half a lie. The thing about the spirit being trapped in the treasure was a lie as well, so I have no idea if she is actually dead or not but either way getting her body out of that crystal is impossible.

I have already used the heavens database to identify the treasure but it just says it's a powerful heavenly artifact that boosts the soul. It is considered a low-grade artifact in terms of strength but high grade for long term benefits. As for the crystal it says it a material from the upper realm that doesn't have any uses other than decoration and being basically unbreakable.

We'll all I can do is try. Since the slave seal attaches to a person's soul, I should be able to use it on her to see if she is alive and draw out her soul from her body.

Main problem is that she would be much more powerful than I am even as a soul, as she is not only from the upper realm but also spent her life having her soul nurtured by the treasure which makes me unable to control her. Hopefully I can convince her to follow me as her father entrusted her to me. Should be enough and since she is a spirit that can only exist because of the mystical connection through the seal, so it's not as if she has any other choice.

Maybe I can find a way to have her merge with my inner world to become its spirit and can control it for me. Worth a shot depending on if she would even be useful.'

He placed his hand on the crystal above where her head is. He then uses the slave seal to send a seal to connect to her soul residing within her body.

It takes a few minutes before he finds a connection. Feeling the connection, he starts to pull on it like he is reeling in a rope. The heavenly treasure residing where her heart is starts to move, as it slowly fazes through the crystal going towards Fen Chang.

The moment the glowing white artifact left the crystal it exploded in bright white light before quickly collapsing in on itself creating an ethereal image of a woman.

The woman's body keeps on forming and each second more and more detail is added. Fen Chang just watches with curiosity at the scene unfolding in front of him.

Soon the woman's body was fully formed and looked identical to the one in the crystal. The body stood stationary, while the white coloured light on the other hand started to get fractures of colour appearing within its streaks. The colours intertwined with the body wrapping around it like a cocoon.

When everything calmed down, what Fen Chang saw was a very beautiful woman with long blonde hair reaching her waist. Its style was long strips with some curls. She had a moderate size breasts and a thin waist. Her thighs her thin but beautiful, creating a gorgeous shape. She was wearing a light blue gown that had two front pieces coming down from her neck and covered her breasts before turning into a giant skirt fully covering her legs.

This woman was one of the most beautiful Fen Chang has yet to see and was amazed by the sight. The woman's eyes slowly flickered open as her eyes adjusted to the light revealing some golden-brown eyes.

Once open all she sees in a young handsome man staring at her. She looks back with confusion and worry in her eyes. "Umm, excuse me but who are you and where are my parents?"

Looking at the confusion on her face Fen Chang sighed and told her about the events of what happened after she got stuck in the crystal.

After explain the story to Su Da she cries her heart out. Although she is crying the only thing being made are sounds as her tears are not real tears and disappear the moment they leave her skin.

She is just sobbing on the floor in front of her father's body. Fen Chang is sitting down on the crystal that her body is in, looking at her pitiful state. Once her grief calmed down a bit she started mumbling how it was her fault and how she wishes to die.

Seeing this Fen Chang starts to speak drawing her attention.

"This is all your fault you know. If you where not so retarded and just kept you mouth shut you might have been able to avoid an ending like this. You caused your mother to sacrifice herself to draw the aggressors away and your father to sacrifice himself in order to make sure you got away.

To make matters worse is that you got hit and almost killed causing your parents to not only worry but also lug around this giant crystal. If you had not been injured, they might have even gotten away. See, ALL YOUR FAULT."

Hearing this her mental state starts to break down as she starts to curl up on the ground wishing for death. To be able to join her parents in hopes they forgive her. Seeing her fall into depression he continues speaking.

"But even if it was your fault that doesn't mean you should be wishing for death. Do you not understand that your parents sacrificed every thing they had so you could live? If you where to kill yourself in hopes of forgiveness then what about the sacrifices they made to keep you alive. It would all be meaningless.

Before you father died, he gave everything me everything he had left so that I could bring you out of that crystal and allow you to live your life. That was your fathers last wish and what your mother died to achieve. You can grieve but wishing for death and not living your life is only an insult to your parents."

Hearing him speak her mind froze as she looked into her father's eyes. Seeing him with a smile on his face, he looked at piece. Like he trusts that his daughter will live and is pleased their sacrifice meant something.

This made her heart quiver as she stood up and looked towards Fen Chang.

"You say my father entrusted me to you?"

"Well before he died, he said a few things. He had lost all of his valuables before coming here, so he gave you to me in exchange for saving you and giving you a good life. So entrusted is a good way to describe it. See it as he gave me his blessing before passing away to be able to look after you.

Although do keep in mind that you are nothing but a soul now. Eventually I might be able to find away to create you a body but its still undetermined. For now, though I hope you will follow me since I am the person who is meant to look after you according to you fathers last words."

Looking at Fen Changs warming smile made her shed some more tears. After her last experience with the person she entrusted feelings to and they betrayed her. She blamed it on herself thinking no man other than her father could look at her with caring eyes. She rushes to hug him, letting out all of her pent-up emotions she built up over the time she was on the run.

Fen Chang was surprised that he could actually feel her, since she is only a soul but thinks its to do with the slave seal forming a connection. He reckons its actually his soul that is touching her, and his soul was almost like a second skin that interacted with her and was sending the feeling to his brain, making it seem like contact.

Like this 20 minutes passed with her non-stop crying, screaming and muttering all the way up until her pent up emotions where finished and she just sat there in silence enjoying another's warmth.
