Nicole finished. She walked towards the suit compartments, and Martinez just stared. He must have been in shock. It would be his first EVA. "Think fast." Nicole appeared and threw Martinez's suit at him. Martinez caught it and stared at her. "Let's go. Hurry up, and change." Martinez hurried away into the boy's compartment, while Nicole started to fill up the oxygen. I hurried quickly to Mission Control on the shuttle. I carefully shifted the course 15º to the west.
"Course shifted by 15º to West. Area clear."
"Good," Nicole replied in a stern voice.
The shuttle slowly shifted. "Hey, guys?" Leo started. "Zeus isn't responding, but he should be there. And yes, I checked the system's still up."
"Break?" Nicole asked.
"No. He gave us his schedule for the mission. It's 7:00 am EST, and, his morning break only starts at 10 am."
"What are you saying?" Nicole pondered.
"Well," Leo started, but was abruptly interrupted by Christopher.
"Sorry, I hate to stop your train of thought, but satellite two is down. "
"What? No, I still have it up on the system." Leo conflicted
"Yes, but our oxygen and pressure tanks will fail if we solely rely on the system."
"What are you suggesting?" Martinez appeared in his suit.
"Something is wrong. I know, it sounds absurd, but I don't think that was Medas who answered when Lopez asked for a go for the EVA."
"So then who was it? It was Medas; he signed in, and he told us it was a GO like we practiced." Leo was not taking this in well.
"Yes, but anyone can do that. All he said was that it was him and then Go. And we practiced saying our last names on record. We use our first with each other, but during work, we use their last name. Medas used his first. He said, Zeus. He's trying to tell us something."
For a second, we all stood in shock.
"I think we should block all communication fully," Christopher suggested.
"Why would we do that?" Nicole started. "If we do that, then we wouldn't be able to connect with Medas. How can he tell us something, if we can't communicate with him? We have to act like nothing is wrong, with Medas. If he says GO for anything, double-check with the rest of us. Clear?" We all nodded.
"So, are we going for the EVA, or not?" Nicole said, with an eyebrow raised at Martinez.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's go."
CLICK-CLACK
Martinez opened the airlock and floated into the safe compartment between the two airlock doors. Nicole floated halfway into the compartment, then turned around, and nodded. Leo and I stared at each other for a second, then nodded and split up. I put on the communication headphones and passed the spare to Leo.
"Lopez, Martinez, Do you copy? Patel and Brown, here." I said into the mic.
"Hey. Martinez and Lopez here."
"OK," Leo started. "Brown here. You need to repair and restore satellites one and two. You guys are going to have to split up. First, determine the problem in the satellites, and fix it. Second, after you fix the problem, you need to position the antennas towards the Mission Control Space Center. Yes, we were told not to change the position of the antenna, but trust me on this."
"OK. First, split up and determine problems in satellites and fix them. Second, position antenna towards Mission Control Space Center. Got it." Lopez said, almost sounding scared.
Leo and I looked at each other in surprise. "OK, guys. Hook's in place."
"Great. Lopez, you go for satellite 1, since you've already had a bit of a look at it, and Martinez goes for 2."
