Chapter 5 - A meeting arranged by fate

"Alright!." Little Hyejin said in agreement.

"Try calling me pretty Aunt." Park Hayoon instructed her.

"Pretty Aunt." Kim Hyejin said in her cute voice.

"Good girl." Park Hayoon said as she kissed her cheek.

Little Hyejin had loads of fun as she tried almost all the rides in the park of not for the age restriction.

"I want to drink water." Kim Hyejin said to her mother.

"Okay. The sun is too much, so you have to sit and wait for me okay?." Park Hayoon said to her as she began to look for a place that has a shade.

"No, I want to be with you." Kim Hyejin said.

The park had many people in it, so she was scared of being left by herself.

"Baby, you are sweating too much." Park Hayoon said as she cleaned her face with a handkerchief.

"I will come with you." Kim Hyejin insisted.

"Okay. Let's go." Park Hayoon said as she lifted her in her arms.

Park Hayoon find a little restaurant and took her inside, but there were a lot of people there.

There was no space to sit.

Park Hayoon looked around the restaurant and finally found a place to sit.

When she approached the table, a young gentleman was sitting there with a little boy who seemed to be a few years older than Hyejin.

But the two chairs opposite them were free, so she politely asked him.

"Excuse, please can I sit here?."

The man glanced at her, and then at Kim Hyejin before nodding in approval.

"Thank you!." Park Hayoon said gratefully.

"No troubles." The young man replied with a smile on his face before glancing at the little boy sitting beside him.

"Jenny sits here and waits for me, I will be back." Park Hayoon said as she put her down on the empty seat.

Then she picked her pride from the bag she kept beside her.

"I'm sorry to disturb you, please keep an eye on her, I want to buy a bottle of water for her. I would have taken her with me, but there's a long queue." Park Hayoon pleaded with the young man.

"It's okay, I will watch over her while you're gone!." The young man promised.

"Thank you." Park Hayoon said to him gratefully before turning to say to her daughter.

"I will be back soon. If you are scared, just look over there, you will see me."

"Okay." Kim Hyejin replied obediently.

Park Hayoon made sure she was sitting properly, and wouldn't fall from her seat before leaving.

Kim Hyejin's eyes followed her mother till she went to stand in the queue, only then did she look away.

"How are you?." The young man asked Hyejin as he watched her actions with a smile on his face.

He looked so friendly while doing so, so Kim Hyejin glanced at him, and replied.

"Fine."

"My surname is Wang, but you can call me Uncle. What is your name?." He asked.

"Kim Hyejin." Little Hyejin replied as she glanced at her mother, to see her still standing in the queue.

At this point, Park Mun-Hee turned to look at her daughter.

Their eyes met, and they waved at each other.

The young man surnamed Wang, smiled when he saw their interaction.

Then he glanced at the little boy sitting by his side, who has been playing games since they arrived.

He snatched the phone from him, and the little boy stared at him with furrowed brows.

"Rest your eyes, you've been playing games since we arrived. You told me you wanted to go to the park, so I brought you here despite your father's disapproval."

"Uncle, I don't want to play anymore, I am not a child. I only asked you to bring me here so I can escape from my father." The little boy said in a mature attitude.

"I can't believe I was used by a child." Mr. Wang said, helpless at his situation.

"Uncle, give the phone back." The little boy requested his stretched-out arm.

"No way, rest your eyes a bit. You can make a new friend now. Meet Kim Hyejin." The young man said as he pointed at the quiet Hyejin, who looked up when she heard her name being called.

It was then that the little boy noticed Hyejin sitting opposite him.

Initially, he had an indifferent expression on his face. But when he saw how pretty Hyejin was, he smiled in delight and said Hello to her.

Kim Hyejin glanced at him as she replied to him with a 'Hello!'.

Just then, Park Hayoon came back with a tray firmly held in grasp.

She put the tray down as she apologized to the young man, but he didn't take it to her heart that she took quite some time.

He understood that there were a lot of people standing in the queue.

Park Hayoon smiled as she passed him a bottle of chilled orange juice.

"Please accept this and don't mind her cheap it is, it's all I can afford."

"I wasn't expecting you to get me anything, but thank you, I appreciate it." The young man replied as he took the drink from her.

Park Hayoon passed a cone of ice cream to the little boy, and he accepted it with a 'thanks'.

Then Park Hayoon passed the other ice cream cone to her daughter.

"Thank you!." Kim Hyejin replied with a smile on her face.

After serving them, Park Hayoon sat on the chair and opened the bottle of water she got.

She poured some of it into a pretty-looking cup she took out from her bag. The cup belonged to Kim Hyejin.

"Jenny, have some water." She said as she brought the cup to her mouth.

Kim Hyejin had a little sip before she continued eating her ice cream.

When it was time to leave, Park Hayoon said her goodbyes to the young man before carrying her daughter to leave.

When the little boy saw that Hyejin was about to leave, he waved his hands, and said, "See you next time pretty Hyejin'er."

"Kim Hyejin waved back at him, and the two little kids stared at each other, till they couldn't see each other anymore.

"Do you like your new friend?." The young man asked the little boy as a smile appeared on his face.

"Yes, she is so pretty, and I will love to see her again." The little boy replied honestly.

"If fate permits, you two will meet again." The young man replied, without knowing that he and the little and the little boy will play a major role in the lives of the mother and daughter pair.
