Chapter 10 - The training required

Park Mun-Hee's eyes turned red in anger as she spoke her mind.

How could her daughter think of going to beg for money from that woman that humiliated them? That was absurd!

She would never allow that, not when she was still alive!.

Park Hayoon on the other hand, did not speak a word when her mother was speaking, because she knew that her mother was right in every aspect.

Even if she was dying and that woman was the only person on earth that could save her, she would rather die peaceably, than live in distress.

After her temper cooled a great deal, Park Mun-Hee held her daughter's hand before saying to her in a soft tone.

"Hayoon, it's good that you are worried about your daughter's future, for it is the right thing to do. But never do anything that would smear our names, because a good name is better than riches. Don't worry too much about the future, for it is ahead. It is only when we overcome the hurdles of our present that we will be able to face the hurdles of the future."

"Yes mother, you are right. I will try to worry less about the money and concentrate on giving my daughter the basic training she requires at this stage. Since I have promised to do everything I can to ensure that my daughter gets the best, I am willing to make the sacrifices, I just hope that she doesn't disappoint me." Park Hayoon said as a new thing to worry about comes to her mind.

"If you make her understand the basic values to succeed, and also let her know that we are working hard to help despite how difficult things are, then she will not disappoint you. So far now, focus on the present. When tomorrow comes with unexpected troubles, we will surely face it and overcome it." Park Mun-Hee encouraged.

Park Hayoon gazed at her mother for a few seconds before hugging her as she said gratefully.

"Thank you, mum."

"There is no problem at all. You are my child, and I will do everything I can to ease your stress and worries. Remember that you are still young and still have a life ahead of you. As you are working for your daughter, work for yourself. All you have to know is that you have your family as your pillar of support." Park Mun-Hee reminded her in a kind voice as she returned the hug.

"Thank you." Park Hayoon said emotionally.

She was indeed grateful to her mother for the love, support, and encouragement she has shown her. Even when she made the greatest mistake of her life, her mother was there for her. And she knows that she will always be there for her.

"Mmmmm...don't worry too much, I am here for you." Park Mun-Hee assured her as they hugged each other tightly.

That night, Park Hayoon went back to her room with a lot of weight off her shoulders.

She was gentle as she opened and closed the door of her bedroom, in other not to wake her sleeping daughter. But she was shocked when she saw the little girl sitting on the bed and staring at her figure.

"Jenny did mama wake you up?." She asked as she approached the bed.

"No, I woke up before you came in. Mama where did you go to, I woke up and did not see you?." Hyejin asked as her mother scooped her up in her arms.

"Mama is sorry for leaving you alone." Park Hayoon apologized as she hugged the little one in her arms. She pecked her cheeks and forehead.

"It's late now, let's go to bed." She said as she laid her little one on the bed and hugged her to sleep.

It was Saturday the next day, so Park Hayoon took her daughter to her part-time job, so she could learn ballet with the other kids of her age.

After an hour of training because of the children's age, the day's section came to an end.

When Park Hayoon came home with her daughter, she helped her to wash her hands, before turning on the Tv for her. Then she put the Disney station for her.

Kim Hyejin's eyes lit up in surprise when she saw the Disney cartoon, 'Princess Sofia The First' showing on the station. So she asked with excitement in her voice.

"Mama, do I get to watch a cartoon today?."

A smile appeared on Park Hayoon's face when she saw the look of excitement on her daughter's face. She gently pinched her cheeks as she said, "Aigoo! see how happy you are, you didn't even bother to hide that excited look. Yes, you get to watch cartoons every day, but on one condition."

"What is it?." Kim Hyejin asked with a confused smile on her little face.

Happy with the interest she showed, Park Hayoon continued, "That you watch cartoons for two hours a day, and at the end of it, you tell me the lessons you learned and put it into practice."

"Okay Mama, I will listen to you, thank you!." Kim Hyejin said excitedly.

Because of her mother's rules, Kim Hyejin paid rapt attention as she watched the cartoon, so she could learn the lesson there.

By the way, she was not alone in the living room. She had her mother and grandmother there as well.

Her grandmother was busy with a fashion magazine, while her mother was busy with her laptop and lecture notes.

So if she didn't understand a scene, and had a question to ask, she could ask either of them.

Luckily for her, her mother could study and also be on the lookout.

"Hayoon, you can go to the dining to study, or go to your room so that you will not be distracted as you study." Park Mun-Hee advised her because she felt that she would not concentrate fully on her school works if she remained in a noisy environment, and kept getting distracted each time her daughter threw a question at her.

"Don't worry mother, I am fine here. I am not in any way distracted, instead, I am training myself to be able to multi-task. This will also help my brain to be hyper-active, then I get to study and understand more." Park Hayoon replied with a smile on her face, with her eyes on her book.
