Mr. Wang crossed over to their side to meet them.
"Uncle Wang?." Kim Hyejin asked as she gazed at him in confusion.
"You recognized me at first glance, that's good. Give me a handshake." Mr. Wang requested as he stretched out his hand towards her.
Hyejin shook his hand, but there was a big contrast between the two hands.
One belonged to a child, while the other one belonged to an adult.
"Hello! Mr. Wang." Park Hayoon greeted from the side.
"Hello, Miss...." He trailed off, waiting for her to say her name.
"Park Hayoon." Park Hayoon replied with a smile as they shook hands.
"Hello Miss Hayoon, it's good to see you again. It seems you came to buy some books for little Hyejin."
"Yes." Park Hayoon replied politely.
"Do you have any other place you are going to?." Mr. Wang asked.
"No, is there a problem?" Park Hayoon asked, surprised by the question.
"There is no problem at all. Do you mind if I buy coffee for you?." Mr. Wang requested with a polite smile on his face.
Park Hayoon rejected him with a polite smile on her face. "No thank you, you don't have to trouble yourself, we are fine."
"Miss Hayoon you don't need to feel burdened, it's my pleasure. You treated me to a drink the other day, so I want to return the favor by buying you a cup of coffee, so please don't reject me."
Park Hayoon glanced at her daughter before glancing back at him. "Alright." She said, agreeing to his request.
"Thank you." Mr. Wang replied happily.
"Please hold on for a minute, let me get this little trouble out from the car." He said before walking towards his car.
He opened the back door and said a few inaudible sentences to someone. It looked like the person disagreed with him, so he pointed towards the direction of Park Hayoon and her daughter were standing while saying something else.
At last, Park Hayoon and her daughter saw him help a little boy out of the car.
Mr. Wang and the little boy approached Park Hayoon and Kim Hyejin. The little boy had a smile on his face.
Park Hayoon and Kim Hyejin both recognized the young boy.
The little boy bowed as he greeted Park Hayoon. Then without waiting for Park Hayoon to reply to his greeting, he turned to Kim Hyejin and called out to her, without failing to hide the excitement on his face.
"Jin'er!."
"Hello!." Kim Hyejin replied with a smile on her face.
A few minutes later, Park Hayoon and Mr. Wang sat at a table and placed their order for coffee.
"Uncle, Jin'er and I will go over there to play." The little boy, Ahn Ye-jun said to Mr. Wang Ju-won. Then he without waiting for a reply or instruction, he held Kim Hyejin's hand and pulled her towards the children's playground that was designed inside the coffee shop.
"Jenny..." Park Hayoon called her daughter worriedly, as she tried to stop her, But Wang Ju Won stopped her.
"Don't worry she will be safe. Ye Jun will take care of her." He assured her.
Only then did Park Hayoon relax.
"On the occasions, I have seen you, you are always with Hyejin. If you don't mind me asking, is she your daughter?." Wang Ju Won asked her curiously.
He has studied the way Park Hayoon took care of Kim Hyejin and worries about her safety and need. It appears to him that the love Park Hayoon had for Kim Hyejin, was a motherly love.
Park Hayoon seemed shocked to have heard that question. At least, this showed that she didn't expect to be asked that particular question.
"What's wrong?." Wang Ju Won asked when he noticed the change in her facial expression.
Park Hayoon quickly masked her appearance and replied. "I don't like replying to this question, because it's a secret. But you can say she is my daughter because I have already taken responsibility for her."
That was indeed a vague but smart reply.
"Oh! That's good. Hyejin must be happy to have a mother figure like you in her life." Wang Ju Won says with a smile.
He was satisfied with her benevolent attitude. A sudden thought came to his mind, and he smiled.
Just then, their coffee order came. So they enjoyed their coffee over a happy conversation.
As the adults talked, the little children conversed as they enjoyed fruit juice and some cookies.
"You didn't tell me your name last time." Kim Hyejin tells him.
"My name is Ahn Ye Jun." The little boy replied.
"How old are you?." He asked.
"I turned three, on the day we first met." Kim Hyejin replied before taking a bite from her cookie.
"Wow! I will give you a birthday present when next we meet." Ahn Ye Jun promised.
"What do you want for a gift?." He asked her.
"I want a pretty-looking hairband so I can pack my hair with it. My Mama doesn't know how to buy pretty looking hair ribbons." Kim Hyejin complained.
Most Mornings, she has to make a fuss over her hair bands, or the style of hair she wanted.
Kim Hyejin felt that her mother had a bad taste in making her hair look pretty.
"Okay. I promise to buy a hair ribbon for you and give it to you in our next meeting. Give me your cell phone number, so that we can talk to each other." Ahn Ye Jun requested as he whipped out his smartphone from his pocket.
"I am still a child, and can't have my phone. You are still young, does that phone belong to you?." Kim Hyejin asked while pointing at the phone in his hands.
"Yes, My Dad bought it for me on my 10th birthday last year." Ahn Ye jun replied as he took the glance at his phone like it was not a big deal.
"Wow! That is amazing! How come you are looking like this when you are already ten years old?." Kim Hyejin asked with her little confused mind as she gave him a weird look.
The reason for that question is that Kim Hyejin thought anybody above ten years old should be looking tall. But the person sitting in front of her was not tall at all. He seemed to be the shortest of his agemates.
