"Stupid," Avina muttered under her breath, "Stupid, stupid, stupid."
Tears swam in her eyes, and she forcefully bit back her sob. "You're so stupid."
She was frustrated, trapped between understanding and not. The more she started to be aware of her feelings, the more she wanted to escape from them.
Avina messily wiped her tears with her hands. She sniffled and took a deep breath. She calmed her heart just enough to remind herself that she wasn't in her room yet.
Avina walked to her room with her head lowered, avoiding everyone she walked passed. It was as if everyone was aware, and it only made Avina wish she could just hide in a hole.
Avina threw her stuff to the side, slammed the door shut, and simultaneously leaped onto the bed. She buried her head deep into her pillow and screamed into it.
