Avina quickly got up and went to the door. She opened it, and just like Danny said, Alistair was waiting outside.
Alistair pushed himself in. He looked at the room, then at Danny, and finally rested on Avina.
Like an anxious mother, Alistair patted Avina from top to bottom. When he made sure nothing was out of the ordinary, he sighed in relief.
"What are you doing here?" Alistair immediately started questioning. He gave Danny a wary look. "Did he do something to you?"
"No, of course-" Avina denied, but she cut herself short because she remembered what happened.
Danny did try to do something, but he didn't succeed. Or did he intend to not succeed? Did he do everything on purpose, even the failing part?
"Not…" The last part of her sentence fell softly. Avina's gaze fell on Danny on the bed, and at that exact moment, Danny turned to look at her.
