Avina gave Ji Fanyin the benefit of a doubt. The next set of tea and cakes were not poisoned.
Though she was still uncomfortable eating tea and cake, Avina didn't want to reject Ji Fanyin's kindness. In the end, she took small sips and bites.
"Do come over next time," Ji Fanyin said. She led Avina out the garden and to the door. Ji Xinrui stayed in the garden.
"Yes," Avina smiled, "I will."
As she was walking home, Su Ning ran up to her. In a hush whisper, she said, "Maybe we should invite her over instead of us coming."
Avina looked at her, puzzled. "Why?"
Su Ning hesitated but then turned determined. "I think her palace is haunted."
Avina was dumbfounded by the accusation. She didn't think Ji Fanyin's palace was haunted. Nothing happened.
