A chilling blue that would never erase from her mind. The cold, hard hatred in them was ingrained in her memory, and she shivered at the thought of meeting that pair of eyes again.
"Head eunuch?" Avina's voice was soft, almost fearful. Yet, her eyes remained steadfast on the man in front of her.
Compared to her memories, the Head Eunuch did not look at her with so much hatred. Instead, he was conscious of his position and didn't meet her gaze.
"I have come to give you the treasury key," the Head Eunuch announced.
Avina dully nodded and watched as he kneeled and presented her with a wooden box. She opened the box and saw an intricate key lying inside.
Avina picked it up and watched as it reflected the light. It was so reflective it was better than her mirrors; it showed how much its previous owner cared for it.
"Lead me to the treasury," Avina said. She stood up and waited for the Head Eunuch to finish packing the box.
