Bai Zhenli froze and was quiet. Then, he said, "Why are we mentioning Xin Wenrou?"
Avina smiled. Even if he returned her question, she wasn't going to back down.
"Because I know, Your Majesty," Avina answered lightly. Her voice did not fluctuate as she continued, "I know of your feelings."
"My feelings?" he said. Bai Zhenli's mouth quirked up into a mocking smile and he said, "How could you know Zhen better than Zhen?"
Avina lowered her eyes. The average person would stop here. Bai Zhenli had reverted to addressing himself as 'Zhen'. That meant he didn't want to talk about this anymore.
Unfortunately, Avina didn't plan to stop here. If she could get him to admit his feelings, then she could stop the deed.
"I don't know Your Majesty better than you do, but I know Xin Wenrou's heartbreak," Avina spun a lie.
She hadn't seen Xin Wenrou for a while. What heartbreak could she know?
