Did Avina see Rayon's face again that day? No. In fact, she didn't see him at all the following day either. 5025 didn't even have to lift a finger to make sure to avoid him; he was doing all the work.
'Was I just dreaming?' Avina blinked. She thought she had seen Rayon's figure in the corner, but when she walked towards it, he wasn't there. Or was he ever there in the first place?
With nothing to confirm her thoughts, it wasn't surprising to doubt the confession. It had happened in the infirmary and she didn't see him at all. Is this how a confession was supposed to be?
'Maybe,' 5025 answered cheaply. It sucked on its milk bottle before smacking its lips. Milk was its new obsession.
