The day of the competition arrived with great fanfare. Wizards and mages from across the continent arrived in all sorts of ways to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Although the prize wasn't something to scoff at nor admire deeply, the title of winning the competition was enough to brag about.
Avina had just arrived at the stadium. It was shaped like a colosseum with marble pillars rising from the ground to the sky. Guards were posted in the surroundings and kept the venue safe. People walked in and out of the entryways, all carrying pieces of luggage and wands of all kinds.
'This is it,' Avina whispered with a twinkle in her eyes. She had been preparing for this day and she was prepared to win. Vatoly told her to go to her room first and then he'd visit later. Avina's task for the day was to get to know her competition and the layout of the stadium.
