Rejection - Avina had grown too used to it these last few days. Vatoly had taught her personally what it meant for your efforts to be worth nothing. He taught her what it felt like to be useless and unappreciated. And though Avina hated to admit he had steeled her heart, he indeed did and it prepared her amply for Donolve's rejection.
Avina wasn't going to back down now. There was no reason to. If she made Vatoly accept her, who's to say Donolve wouldn't?
"Charlise," Avina popped out an all too familiar name. It was the reverse scale for Donolve and the only thing that could draw his attention.
Facts prove her gamble to be correct. Donolve stopped all his movements and finally directed a look at her. He remained silent but Avina didn't mind. She had got his attention and that was the first step.
"You like her, don't you?" Avina continued on. "I can help you."
