Mr. Touta flinched violently in his chair. A puddle of sweat wet his collar and his brows furrowed tightly. Whispers escaped his mouth sounding more and more like pleas of mercy.
Luciv eyed Avina suspiciously. Although he didn't know what Mr. Touta was experiencing, it could be seen that it was bordering torture. That puddle of sweat, not to mention those cracked pleas didn't seem anything near safe.
"What?" Avina said. She shook her shoulders. "All I did was give him a nightmare of his deepest fears. What he dreams up isn't my business."
Half her words were true. She did in fact give him a nightmare; it's just the topic of it was Eve, not his deepest fears. Whether or not Mr. Touta felt any guilt for Eve, she intensified those feelings until it became his worst nightmare.
