Jake awoke from his slumber after hearing a scattering, rustled noise from Derek's room. He sighed in aggravation as he threw his covers aside and walked through the halls. From The noise of things he could swear he heard a screeching growl come from the door as he reached for the door knob hesitantly. He gabbed in shock as he saw his baby brother hanging from the ceiling in a threatening glance. " Derek?" Jake peeped as he raced to gripped the door as his brother lunged to eat his first meal. Jake closes the door just in time to hear his baby brother bang his mutant freak head on his bedroom door. What was he going to do about Derek? How was he going to explain to mom about Derek? He panted in exasperation at what his brother had become. He always new his brother loved to read about superheroes and junk but this?!?! It was unexplained. Jake had heard a progression of pounding from his brothers room. He held the door closed until he heard a loud shatter of glass. But when he opened the door all he could see were tiny little pieces of glass scattered on the floor with the window shades blowing elegantly in the breeze.

Derek ran through the dark damp city streets of Chicago in frozen fear of what he had become. He walked the cold damp pavements to the place where he had first met Romulus. He wouldn't have been surprised if he'd left. He had a chance o fix things and to become normal like everybody else, but instead he blew it. Now there wasn't a way to put an end to what he had become. He heard light foots steps on the city street as walking pedestrians in Chicago started to head home. Derek, wanted the same, but he stood out in the cold wet rain, not wanting to hurt anybody in his family. Everything, that had meant so dearly in his life had just turned on him, and now, he had nothing. Nothing but the rain and his undying need to be fed of something that would satisfy. He heard loud empty footsteps coming towards him. Please he thought, don't let it be Lily. But it wasn't the girl of his dreams, instead a masculine six foot shadowy figure headed straight towards him. "Stand back." he barked toward the man. " I'm warning you! I don't know if what Romulus said is true but -"
"Everything I say is true." The figure said, and in a clear nearby street lamp peering over him. Derek could see the figure was indeed Romulus. "Here" he said taking a vial from around his neck and handing it to Derek. " This blood is blood from a dragon. It may sting a little as you drink it but it's more fulfilling to us then a humans and we don't have to keep killing in order to survive. A few drops of this, and you'll are set for seven weeks." Derek gulped before taking the vial. He knew what he had to do but the thought of it displeased him. But as the blood ran down Derek's throat he could feel his head aching and his vision starting to blur. " What's in this vial?" " Dragon's blood and the blood of a Cavetto." Derek failed to notice the torn flesh on Romulus's palm. " What's happening to me?" He asked sputtering from the burning blood. Romulus just smirked and said "You are now becoming a full fleshed Cavetto."
"And what's that suppose to mean?" he said choking on the last drop of blood he drank.
" It means your one of us."
