"You know Moira, I think when someone gets older, their life's goals change, even their principles, and attitudes, all change, they develop more tolerance and patience, some say they become smarter, even geniuses. Fortunately, I am not in that group of people, I may say I am safe from that boring life for now and you too, so we should be part of the same group, we should unite as fellow six-year olders, but we must set some rules first, what do you think?"
"…"
"I knew you would agree, well, the first one, and I think the most important of them all as it will determine our future relationship. Never, I repeat Never throw a cake to the floor in my presence."
The sweet voice of Anne was filled with a dark side battling to get out. If one were to see her closer, one would be able to notice a big shadow lurking around her body threatening to cause havoc to the world.
However, surprisingly the little girl in white clothes and sickly appearance before her was not a bit scared. She seemed even angry and daring. Her big red eyes showed defiance at anything and anyone, not minding the noble title, the lineage, the rank, the gender, the race, or the age. Her little finger moved to the plate in front of her and with a little push, the plate landed on the floor adorning it with cream, bread, and fruits together with the shattered pieces of the exquisite white plate.
Anne raised a brow at the defiance she faced. She hadn't met someone with such guts in a long time.
"I am a mature six years old and I won't get angry as it is the first offense after I established the rule," her little eyes looked at the floor where the shattered cake was, inside her mind and with all her heart she was offering a pledge for it. 'You shall not be forgotten.'
Anne returned to her smiling self about to take another piece of cake. However, the little sickly girl beat her to it and threw the whole cake to the floor the next second.
"So this is how we are?"
Moira only looked at Anne with a vacant but clearly defiant glance.
Anne stood up and looked down at the little girl.
"Princess…"
Tia was a bit worried, no one had dared to do that to the young princess and went unclean. But, Moira was not anyone, she is a sickly girl they found in the road and Anne took in when she fainted in front of the carriage.
The doctors said she would need a miracle to save her life as the illness she had was extremely rare.
"Sigh… fine, Moira, I got it. Tell me what you want."
The little girl raised a finger pointing to the window.
"What? I don't hear you, Tia, did you hear her?"
Moira again pointed at the outside.
"Mmm no, Your Highness."
"I too, what's going on, Moira? I am giving you the opportunity to tell me, but it seems you don't want to say it."
The little girl tried to open her mouth and said the words but it seemed that she couldn't mutter a single word. Her expression was turning sad and angry with desperation at the same time.
"You see… you look pitiful, yes, you are pitiful, Moira. You can't even talk. You can't even walk by yourself. You can only throw cakes to the floor."
Anne was smiling now but her eyes were fixed in the shattered cake with sorrow. 'What a waste… sigh.'
Moira wanted to return to the bed, but couldn't, her leg was fractured and she needed help to stand up. So the only thing she could do was to lower her head and stay there.
"But I will give you an opportunity, Moira. If you can bake me a cake like that one, I will give you the chance to get away from here. What do you say?"
Moira looked up as if testing the truth on Anne's words.
"…"
"Great, I take your silence as your agreement. I will even get the chefs to teach you, but you know. I will be the judge."
Moire raised her arms in protest and made many signals to express her discomfort. She even signaled to Tia and the cake, 'I want her to be the judge.'
"Oh, my, you want Tia to…"
Moira nodded hardly. Anne covered her little mouth with her hand in a delighted surprise.
"Want Tia to give you another cake, you want to start learning now. How wonderful." She wiped out her unexistent tears. "This is true courage, how inspiring."
Moira was dumbfounded, if she weren't already mute, she would become one by such shamelessness. She even wondered if the other servants were not already the same as her.
"Then, hero of the cake, I will wait for a wonderful job, and… as I see you need to prepare quickly, I will make a wonderful medic to look at your leg later, see ya!"
Anne stood up with a little jump and almost run out to the door. However, when she was already on the other side, she forgot to close the door and her laugh could be heard.
"Hohohohoho"
Some days ago, Mellie had left Anne a message in the most surprising manner. It was on the inside of a piece of cake. Evidently, Anne had to eat the whole piece to dig it out.
[Taunt the sick person.]
She wondered who would be the sad victim, she even went outside the castle and wandered the streets in her carriage, when a surprise fell on her. The little Moira.
"Oh Callum, what are you doing here?"
The mighty knight had forgotten to conceal himself. He was making the hallway a bit dark with his aura.
"You know… never is too late to start eating cake, if you want a bite you can share the one with Moira. I bet, she will be delighted…"
Callum only looked at Anne for a moment and took the handle of the door.
"Princess, thank you for bringing her here."
"… let's go, Tia, shall we visit the one in the tower?"
