What the twins saw astounded them.
They saw their own birth. They recognized their mother. She was Palla.
They saw their childhood in the God's Domain. They saw themselves playing in the forest together. They saw themselves playing and laughing with their older half-brother, Cymis. They saw themselves training, at a young age, to be part of Feidlimid's plot.
They saw themselves fighting the other Gods. They saw themselves duelling for Feidlimid and for his selfishness. They saw themselves win almost every battle they fought.
They saw their mother's rage, her sadness, and her grief. They saw themselves put down their weapons before her.
They saw the demons rise. They saw the Gods fall. They saw each other slaughtered; Milo first, then Adaline.
That should have been the end of the memories, but it wasn't.
They saw themselves being dragged across the God's Domain, they saw themselves being dumped outside of the barrier just after it closed. They saw the God of Blood leave them there to die.
These memories were not their own. They were Feidlimid's.
They saw themselves being discovered by Palla. They saw the sorrow on her face, and seeing it broke their hearts.
They saw themselves stripped of all Godliness. They saw themselves banished to the mortal's domain.
They saw themselves become the gravekeeper for the Temple on the Mountain, and they saw themselves discover their own children, reincarnated but forsaken by the Gods; forsaken because of them.
They saw themselves vow not to make the same mistakes twice.
