They were all pawns in the hand of Boss Lim who managed their 'company' and the other lesser gods that managed different worlds. Their job was to, in some way manage the lives of children of fate, cannon fodders, villains, second leads, etc. Generally, most of them worked as transmigrators, armed with systems. Arriving in different worlds built by different gods who were in charge of different realities.
The person who simply went by 'Lee', however, was a person who worked in the department of filing information and enjoyed it. She, at thirty, had been responsible for accounting information before and after missions. That's what he was good at, she didn't have the skills or looks to work as a World Hopper.
"Ah, there's a lot of great seniors but no one seems to top Boss Lim or Sister Xue!"
"Right! We're all doing the same job, and yet they're the best at it!"
Lee couldn't help but nod in agreement.
Chinese transmigrators were famous around their space station, ah. They were known for their beauty and precise measures when it came to the worlds they 'hopped'. No one however is able to match the caliber of Boss Lim and his rumored flame, a mature goddess named Xue.
They were the IT couple within their large company, despite not being confirmed to be dating or not. Lee, despite not being much into company gossip, thought they would be a good couple as well.
Two beauties should be together.
Sighing at the thought, Lee gathers her things to go to the cafetorium for her break, when she's stopped by a young man she recognized as an intern.
"Miss Lee?"
She blinks.
"Yes, what's the matter?"
The intern blink, flushed, handing her a paper.
"Boss Lim wants you to join him for lunch at this address."
She met Boss Lim at a high-class restaurant.
It made her feel complex.
...What did he want from her?
Lee rarely talks to him, so she's quite nervous.
Did she mess up on her job?
No, no.
She loves her job, shes very meticulous, from expenses, down to the profiles of employees. She prided herself in her job.
Arriving at the restaurant by a cheap, discount teleportation pod.
It was a pretty high-class, traditional looking restaurant. She knew it as Boss's Lim's favorite from his secretary, Ethan Wong and knew from his secretary he often took important people to eat there.
And he invited her there, something was wrong, ah!
She was wearing an old pair of slacks, and a white blouse that day and wasn't sure if she dressed properly. Sure enough, she was stopped at the entrance by the hostess who was dressed in a red QiPao paired with nude lipstick, looked her up and down with mocking eyes.
"Oh, Ma'am. Do you have an reservation?"
Lee gives her a small, reserved smile.
"I have one with a Lim Qiu."
Ah, even saying his full name makes the hair on her neck raise.
The hostess looks frightened at the mention of his name and scrambles to accompany her.
"O-Oh, so you're the person Boss Lim is meeting? Come, come right away!" Lee felt her hand be jerked and pulled forward, inside of the establishment.
The next she knows, she's sat down in front of her Boss, wordlessly sipping tea.
She glances at her boss, who has his eyes trained on her and nervously shifts her eyes down on the table.
His handsome face was too calm, god! Something was amiss.
Her boss, before he became the head of their company, was a very famous transmigrator. He was in his forties, yet looked to be in his mid-twenties. There were rumors he wasn't human, and Lee believed them, completely.
"Xiao Lee, thank you for joining me. I hope I wasn't interrupting something."
Lee gives him a defeated smile.
"Not all. What would you like to talk to be about, Boss?"
He smiles, calling over a waitress to refill his tea.
"So, Xiao Lee, I'd like to talk to you about a new position in the transmigration department."
