It had been a while since this fool had set out from his home, damming the wishes of his parents to inherit his family estate his brothers and sisters had shed tears too many to count yet all were fake for in truth they nothing but pleased at the sight of his back ever growing in distance for unlike the rest of his family of esteemed nobles he was born talented with skill in the blade that would be hard for the best of men to replicate and a magical genius as rare as the blue moon which only appeared in Skovos, on discovery of his talents he set out on improving them swinging his sword until his hands were raw and immediately moving to tombes and grimoures that would give 8th mages pause due to their complexity he grew in age and power yet lacked fulfilment, no matter how many new levels he reached in swordmanship or how far his magical abilities grew he always felt the same thing, emptiness, he looked at his hands ones so strong and fierce for one his age his mind filled with knowledge and wisdom and thought arent there better things to put these things towards, he was 8 at the time.
As he grew older his parents grew prouder until they decided to do the unthinkable, they decided to pass over their first, second, third and fourth child in favour of making him the sole heir to all the owned, a prestigious nobel family made its 5th and youngest child its heir passing all of his older brothers and sisters because they knew that this boy would bring their family to heights his family could never hope for, whether they were right we'll never know because at 16 he left home, he was 12 when he found what he thought was his purpose in life, the boy had grown chasing knowledge and strenght like a madman never coming into contact with others his age, never experiencing a proper childhood until one fateful day, he left his study table, his training grounds and left the walls of his parents manse to see what their territory had for him, he spoke with those who be his subjects familiarising himself with the simplicity of their lifes treasuring their smiles and laughter and learning who they were and not what they constituted, he had disengaged himself from his escort and began wandering the towns and villages on his own an easy feat with his physical abilities traversing the country side in moments with nothing but his own two feet until he finally made it to the border and the end of his joyous excursion,
Raiders small packs of men and women with tangible strenght and loose moral, not content with living under the laws of their kingdom and since few lived around these parts that could best them in a fight they went wild, they had begun an operation on his territory and were in the midst of carting money, food and slaves when he found them and with the saber he had been gifted with for his birthday that very year he engaged and handedly defeated them all capturing what he could and running off the rest, he broke the shackles off his people and returned their stolen goods and stood there amidst tears and thanks for the first time in his life feeling fulfilled, it was late at night when his escort finally found him and escorted him back home and when they did so the first thing he did was to go straight to his parents and request their families armed forces be put under his command, it didnt take much to get them to relent and with full authority over the decisions made with his families forces he began refining them to suit his tastes and skill level, he recruited people who he felt showed promise at the appropriate price and trained them himself, inputting discipline and courage into them when asked why he was doing this he only had one answer
"you all have to be able to do this much in order to protect the people"
his answer garnered their respect and admiration, within a year his reorganised forces were able to easily dispatch even the most skilled and crafty of raiders crime rates dropped out of existence prosperity was brought to the land by a 13 year old boy, his skills were so admired that the king of their country invited his to the capital to train the royal forces and he accepted believing he could do better after all he already had, he never truly stopped leading his forces at home often sending them instructions and advice while coordinating the royal forces, eventually he rose to prominence in the capital as well earning the favour and respect of his king and the envy of the other nobles who were appalled to be outshone by a boy who hadn't even grown facial hair, they intented to either sabotage or force him under them but the boy proved as capable of courtly policies as he was of morning drills and so no misfortune came upon him, by the time he left the capital at 16 the royal military was something to behold, he made his was back to his home in order to receive startling news he was to inherit his family estate and all the lands and honours attached and in full veiw of his entire family and subjects cheering for him with all their hearts, he refused.
