The three sat down around Sahr. Who was still making comments about Mark and Rubeos under her breath. When she saw that the three were ready, she sighed and proceeded with the explanation.
¬Small quest: Learn the Healing method, and heal your arm before departing¬The voice of limit sounded in the back of Lith heads.
-So our bodies naturally heal from injuries. The process of healing requires us to eat correctly and more importantly, is time-consuming. The healing method is a method used to accelerate this process. Or almost, it's not clear who was the one who came with it but it has been used by most of the intelligent races.- Sahr paused a bit thinking about how to explain the next part- the exact process depends from race to race, but the main idea is that you will accelerate your metabolism and direct the nutrient you absorbed to your wound to be healed. A broken bone will need calcium, so milk or powder bones are what you will need to consume. A cut would need flesh and blood so you should consume that.-
-Can this method be used during combat?-Lith asked.
-No, this method requires concentration, food, and more importantly this method will exhaust you really fast. When you fight, you cannot divide your attention, and cannot risk yourself being tired.-
-Why are some intelligent races that don't use this method?- this time the one asking was John.
-Mainly because it is unnecessary or is incompatible. For example, golems don't use the method a dirt golem can cure himself as long as there is dirt around. Without dirt, they can't do anything to repair themselves. And no they can't use the dirt they just lost. So the method is unnecessary. And on the other hand, Ragnas are incompatible as they can only it certain things.-
-What's a Ragna?-
-Did your parents teach you anything in your fifteen years of life?-before Lith could answer, Sahr, continue- Ragnas, also known as the giant race. They occupy the north of the Sulan continent, while you can come across them in other places, generally, the ones you see outside their lands, are the ones that are not legally adults in their community. The adults are ten meters tall with scales of metal covering their bodies, they walk on two feet. Their long arms end in five metal claws that are extremely sharp. If you want to imagine, it is like a ten-meter person with scales of metals and arms a little too long for the body. They feed on Metal trees or Metal. Their scales change depending on what metals they ate. A race that values treaties and those who have broken treaties with them do regret it. Okay, enough of the Ragnas for now. Lith went to bring some milk-
Lith stood up and with care not to move his broken arm, he went to pick up some milk from the food supply, he came back with one big jug of milk.
-Now all of you drink- and the jug was passed between the three until it was empty.- Sit down, empty your head of thoughts. You should be able to feel the food in your stomachs. While concentrating in the milk, proceed to make one small breath in, two large out, one large in two small out pause for the duration of one large breath, and repeat. -
Lith followed the instructions, and he had to pay attention to his breathing and the milk. After a few minutes of repeating the breathing technique, hotness started to spread from his stomach and coldness from his broken arm. He continued and slowly but surely the hotness increased and with it, the milk started to diminish, and a few minutes later there was no more milk. Lith stopped the breathing technique. Only to realize he was tired and out of breath.
¬Small quest: succesfull¬
¬nes skill: Healing Method¬
-Lith go help prepare lunch, you two need to go and pack your things, after lunch, we depart.-
Lunch was simple, some soup and broth. It took more time than Lith ever thought it would take to prepare. But the encampment ate, there were around 15 people left. After cleaning everything and picking water for the trip, they started walking.
Traveling during the day in the desert is always a bad idea, but it didn't depend on Lith. They walked for an hour and then they were farther away from Lith's house than he ever was.
During the trip, it became evident that the group was divided into two. The people that were sent to take care of them and the three that were directed by Sahr. While Sahr was the one making the decisions, the two groups didn't really interact. Sometimes someone of the other group would report something to Sahr. Lith didn't talk with anyone and simply followed the group. It was clear that his mind was still trying to process the changes in his life, at some moments he seemed to be part of the groups and a whole person at others he was an empty hull. When night arrived they didn't stop but continued walking, the temperature drop and animals could be heard. Some desert foxes spy on them from a few dunes but leave after seeing the big group. The stars shine above them, and silence reigns as the party advanced through the sand.
It was a beautiful sight: the desert bask in darkness, while they walk in the seemingly endless sand. From what Lith had gathered they should arrive at an oasis the next morning. But that oasis was not usually frequented by people. So they expect to find some animals there.
