Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

It was weird for Lith to have free time, and so after a few minutes of feeling restless, he decided to go to the oasis after running there every day for a year he knew his way from memory. It always shocked him how the desert was never changing after a year of running through it there was not a mark in the sand. Mark had told him once that for the desert nothing was worthy enough not to erase. The training should reflect on Lith not in the land he transversed.

When he was arriving at the oasis, he saw that there were some tents around the oasis. The grey tents had not been there yesterday a group of people was walking through the tents. After observing a bit more, Lith confirmed that they were not people from the desert. They lack the correct equipment to live a long time in the desert. The closes were too tight and didn't have material to cover the face in case of a sandstorm. Laughter and screaming were heard from the encampment.

After thinking about it for a few seconds Lith decided that it was better to go back home. He started to slowly retreat, when he turned around, there was a group of 3 in front of him. The one in front was a short stoic muscular woman, her short red hair accentuated her green eyes, and her smile inspired confidence. Her muscular scar arms were unprotected save for some metal wristband. The armor that she had on her chest had seen its fair share of conflict as it was riddled with battle marks.

Behind the muscular woman what it seems to be a tall man with a bow was yawning. The sand color tunic made him easy to miss in the desert, and a veil covered half his face. The black eyes could be seen scrutinizing every little bit of terrain. Next to him was a thin man with blue hair. It was Lith's first time seeing someone with that color of hair. He wore tight-fitting leather armor, it didn't seem to have been hit many times as there were few marks of contact in it. On his waist, a sharp rapier could be seen.

Silent was shortly interrupted as the red hair woman talked.

-Look what the sand, has brought to as- her smooth voice sounded. Lith couldn't help but gulp down, while he felt cold-sweet on his back.

-Stop playing around Sahr- the Rapier man talked.- Go little kid before you can no longer leave.- Lith didn't move he didn't understand the situation.

-Look he wants to stay with me- sounded the voice of Sahr next to Lith.

When had she move next to him, Lith was startled, in his panic Lith took one of the small axe and attacked Sahr.

Sahr with a hand took the axe from Lith's hand, and with the other hand graved Lith's head and repeatedly bury it in the sand.

Sahr was mad the little kid had there to attack her. In her mind, she couldn't stop thinking this little bastard will pay. After burying Lith heds a good number of times, she produces a paper with some words on it. Her two companions shocked at this revelation wanted to voice a complaint but the murderous look in Sahr's eyes stopped them.

-Little kid you should sing this apology for attacking first- Sahr told Lith.

Lith couldn't understand what was happening, his head was spinning. He couldn't distinguish what he was told. Limit was screaming something in his head. In his view, a paper was presented and he was given a pen. And in all the confusion he scribbled over the paper. Suddenly Limit was in silence, and Lith felt that something was wrong.

After a few seconds, Lith's head stopped spinning. And he looks around him, they were still there. Sahr looked at him and smile, Lith didn't like that smile, that smile scream I own you. The paper was still in front of him. On top of it said "Servitude Contract", at the bottom Lith had scribbled. He didn't quite understand.

¬Well, you fucked up, that scribbled you did is consider a sing, so you sing a servitude contract for 7 years.¬ Limit stoped¬ There's not much that can be done, Sahr as they seem to call her can terminate the contract. She has her responsibilities, mainly she has to make sure you don't starve and can't order you to die.¬Limit pause¬but she can send you to war or a place where you almost certainly will die.¬

Lith shocked increase with the explanation.

-Ohh, you seem to understand what this means-Sahr smile grew-So little one what's your name? and where is your home?

-Lith- He didn't want to tell where his home was, he didn't want to bring these dangerous people home. What would these people do to his parents?

-Lith has a nice sound to it, said the man with a bow-His voice was sturdier and more profound than one would spect. -But kiddo you should know, we are not dumb, you should have a house nearby, and judging by your age, a family, if you don't tell us we will found it.

...

The voice continued -okay, let's see what can I find then- and the bowman turned around and started walking. And with that Lith was brought to the encampment. And in the process Limit finished explaining how the contract works.

¬To summarise, I need to follow what they told me to do, while I can deny some orders, I should reserve those for key instances. As too rejecting orders have consequences, even more, I could end up as a real slave.¬

¬Yes, that's the basic idea.¬ Limit responded¬ The other important detail is that the contract makes you unable to escape. If you are given a mission or have to do something far away from Sahr, you will need to go back to her once you finish.¬
