Mathew the foreman of our construction team came in to talk to us after everyone left for the night.
"Alpha, Luna good evening do you have a minute to talk about the next part of the project?"
"Yes of course sit down please."
"Mathew would you like something to drink?"
"Can I have some water please Luna?"
As I hand Mathew the bottle of water I get a flash as our fingers skim each other. I can't see it very well so I take his hand in mine and that's when I see it. Mathew is looking at me like I'm crazy or something. Steve just comes closer as I release his hand.
"Before anyone says anything I say," Tomorrow I will place the new pack house on this side. Mathew you will take the day off. You have been working to hard the last few weeks. Take the day off and get some rest. George will do until you have rested. Don't think of this as you being in trouble just that you need a day of rest. I don't want anything bad happening to you."
"Um okay Luna I will take the day off and rest thank you, it means a lot that you care."
"Okay Mathew do you have anything else to report?"
"No Alpha just that we are ready to start phase two when the Luna is."
"Good now go home and get some rest."
"Wait Mathew here is some dinner for you, Once you eat go to bed."
"Thank you Luna. Good Night Alpha, Good night Luna I will see you in two day."
After we tell him good night he goes to his place eats and goes to bed. After I tell Steve what I saw he takes me upstairs and shows me how much he appreciates what I have done for the pack.
The next day I manage to sleep in till six. But I got up and took a shower. Then I went down and got something to eat. While I was buttering my toast Cassie came in.
"Good morning Luna how are you today?"
"I am doing well Cassie how are you doing?"
"Well I am doing fine, I actually had something I wanted to talk to you about. Since your going to make the new pack house today I was wondering if you could make it bigger. The basement needs to be twice as deep and we need at least ten more bedrooms."
"Can you draw me something? It's always helpful if I have a visual aid."
"Actually Luna I did. Will you be able to handle adding on an extra story?"
"Let me see what you did then I will let you know."
After she handed me the drawing. I took a closer look at it then I went outside. Cassie followed me until I stopped walking. Then I turned in a circle. After a minute I found what I was looking for. This is where it will go. We will move most of the furniture and supplies in this evening. I like this, Also if we leave the old pack house standing it will give others a place to come to. And the new pack house won't have stairs it will all be ramps. Is there anything else you want to add?"
" I don't want to over tax you but can we have a kitchen on the second floor down. Somewhere in here maybe?"
As she points out where she wants it her had touches mine. I put my hand over hers as I see it. Once it's over I turn more and hug Cassie. After a minute I release her and say," You could have moved into this pack house rather than go home every night. Since the Alpha and family usually stay on the third floor why don't we just make half of the third floor yours. It it's okay I will make you an apartment on one half of the floor while we take the other half. Your apartment will have its own kitchen. You can do whatever you want in there. Do you want a shower or a bathtub? Here write it down I will set it up. Also how many rooms do you want and what kind. The old pack house has fourty rooms and a basement. This one will be much bigger. And it will center around family. Shall we go back inside?"
"Thank you Luna. Yes let's go have breakfast. I will give you a list of rooms."
As we head back inside I stumble against the wall and see a disaster. At the same time I see this William is woken up out of a sound sleep and changes to come to me. Summer follows him out and seeing this Cassie calls for Steve.
A moment later everyone is gathered around me. William changes back to himself and Summer hands him a pair of sweat pants.
Steve says," Okay everyone we need to get inside. Summer please get Williams chair. Then we need to get everyone in the house. After that we need to know what's going on."
As Summer gets up to go to the house William grabs my arm then I grab Steve's. Everyone sits up or stops in their tracks.Then the whole pack sees what is coming at us this Winter. We hear a voice whisper," It will be bad, so everyone needs to help. Move the houses closer together and build them bigger. I'm not supposed to have favorites but you are mine. Your mother would never forgive me if I didn't fully warn you of everything. William, it's time you tap into your power. The guardians will help you. The four of you can protect this pack."
Then everyone sees the same scene that has plagued me since I got here. The blizzard that I saw is worse than I could have imagined. We are snowed in for almost a month. We have a good start but it's not enough. People refuse to listen and they start starving. This is everyone's warning or wake up call. After today either everyone helps or they are screwed. Once the vision ends Summer gets the chair and we all go in the pack house.
Once we are all seated at the table the the guardians come in and we talk about how to move everything closer. Then we talk about ways to keep travel possible. They also see the drawing of the new pack house and we definitely decide that we will build two more of this size in addition to the one I had planned for today. After we talk for a bit we have Steve tell everyone they have to leave their houses and come to the common area. This is to keep everyone safe.
It takes everyone ten minutes to gather Then Steve and I tell them that the houses will be moved closer to the main area here.Right now the whole village is over a mile long. In order to survive we have to be closer. Then the four of us go out and decide the best position to do this from. In the end we all go to a corner of the village and move everything into ten by ten lines. With the large pack houses in the middle. We will have a total of six large houses in the middle As well as the clinic. We are making everything easier to keep everyone alive through the winter.
As each of of us goes to a different corner of the village we get a warrior to stand guard. Even though Summer wants to go with William I ask Cassie to stay with her. Steve comes with me. Once everyone is in their spots I make one request. The houses that are the furthest out needs to remain on the outer row. Then we move the whole village inward. After ten minutes we get all of the houses moved. Then we get back to the group and tell them to go find their new spot. Then we head back into the pack house that is now in the middle of the community.
Once everything has calmed down George comes over and asks when we want to put up the new pack house. We tell him he has one hour to bring all of the materials he has to this area. Then he leaves.
One hour later with all of the materials in the center of the village and the whole pack out to watch the four of us once again standing on the four corners we build the remaining pack houses. When we are done we have four four story pack houses and four three story pack houses. As well as two clinics.
After we are finished the guardians go back to their place to rest. William and Summer go to their house. And I go and take a nap.
