Chen Yixin jolted, startled, and quickly tucked away her pink cell phone before donning her glasses and attempting to smooth her disheveled hair.
After a flurry of hurried grooming, securing that nothing was amiss, Chen Yixin cleared her throat.
"Come in."
The door was gently pushed open, "Professor Chen, I've made you a cup of coffee."
Entering was a girl with braided pigtails, wearing a white lab coat that looked a bit unsophisticated.
She carefully placed the coffee on the table, stole a glance at Chen Yixin, then whispered with her head lowered, "Director Song asked me to tell you that military visitors are here, and they wish to see you immediately."
Chen Yixin took a sip of the coffee and was just about to speak when her gaze fell upon her bunny slippers that she had kicked away.
