"Thank you, driver. How much do I owe you?"
Shao Zifeng got out of the taxi with his belongings and felt truly grateful towards the driver who was willing to drop him off in the middle of nowhere in the dead of night.
The taxi driver looked at Shao Zifeng's kind face, wiped the fine beads of sweat from his forehead, and stomped on the brake pedal, causing the rear wheels to spin furiously.
Along with the grating sound of friction, a large amount of white smoke mixed with the smell of burning rubber spread through the air.
Then the taxi driver released the brake, and the car shot forward like an arrow released from its bow, breaking through the smoke and roaring away, leaving behind only dark skid marks and plenty of smoke.
"Cough, cough!"
Shao Zifeng fanned away the stinging smoke with his hands and murmured as he watched the taillights of the departing car, "Seems like you're going the wrong way, but there are still good people around nowadays."
